As the moments passed, that warmth I imagined began to grow in size and strength.
It was a small spark that became a flame.
"Good, now open your eyes," she said.
Slowly, I opened them, and I saw a pale glow extending from the tips of fingers.
My eyes opened wide, "...is that,...!" I said in disbelief.
"Yes magic, aschè to be precise," the Dark One replied. "Very good," she said, beginning to clap.
After a moment, she stopped.
"Cemilian?" She said, sounding confused, looking at me while motioning to her eye.
The light in my hand began to fade, and I touched under my eye.
It was wet.
I was crying.
Tears were pouring down my cheeks.

I quickly turned around, turning my bad to the Dark One. I tried to wipe them away, trying to maintain my composure. I was already weak. I didn't want to seem even more pathetic than I already am.
"Why?" was the only thing she said, keeping her distance.
"Because, because it means I'm not completely useless. I can, at least do this much. I could be useful to -" I stopped mid thought.
