I took off the other ring and attempted to place "staedrún" on my middle finger.
As it slid onto my finger, it ran up against my first knuckle and would not go any further.
"I guess it didn't choose me," i said with an awkward laugh.
"What do you mean? You didn't channel any magic into it," the Dark One replied bluntly.
"Oh, right," I said nervously.
I closed my eyes and imagined that same flow, the millions of tiny specks flowing in and out with each breath. I then imagined them flowing toward the ring ,and through it
My hand began to feel warm. To my surprise, I felt the ring that had become stuck on my my knuckle began to loosen. And so I attempted to slide the ring on my finger.
Sure enough, it began to move and passed over the second knuckle fully onto my finger.
I opened my eyes and looked down at the ring now on my finger. There was a dull shimmer. It seemed to flash a couple of times like an eye blinking before going out completely.
"Whoa," I said aloud in astonishment.
"Congratulations," the Dark One said, "the ring is yours."
