"Catalyst?" I asked.
"It is a tool used to cast spells," she replied.
"But I don't think I've ever seen you use one?" I replied.
The Dark One huffed proudly and as if to laugh, "I don't need one," she stated, "I am the 'Dark One,' the 'Witch of All Magics,' I am magic," she said proudly.
"... I see," I replied.
"Never mind me, we are here for your education in the magic artes," she said before turning to a nearby shelf.
"Cemilian, come here, and hold out your hand," she said, as she leaned over and picked up something.
I moved beside her as she stood up. She took hold of my hand and slipped a ring on my index finger. It was a large silvery looking ring with a gem inlaid in it.
"...umm...," I stammered to get the words out. I felt embarrassed for a woman to slip a ring on my finger.
"What!?" She snapped.
"Nothing!" I replied.
"Now then, you said you had some training in spell casting. Try casting a spell, you know," she said.
"Alright," I said nervously.
