I took a deep breath and did as the Mages of the kingdom had shown me. I raised my arm and outstretched my hand.
"In my hand, I hold divine fire that burns down all, gather before me-"
"Stop!" The Dark One said suddenly sounding perturbed.
I turned my head and looked to her.
"What are you doing!?" She said as her eyes narrowed in on me.
"Chanting magic?" I replied, now unsure of myself.
She signed and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"You're not doing anything, your just babbling words," she said sighing deeply, "there is no circulation, no flow, no amassing of energy, you might as well be shouting to the wind. Did you actually learn magic, or did you just watch someone and try to imitate them?" She said in a demeaning tone.
"This is what the mages of the court said was how to cast magic," I replied.
"Really now," she replied as her eyes wandered upward and narrowed.
For a moment, she was silent until she turned back toward me.
"Well, let us start by teaching you circulation of energy. The first step of magic," she said with a smile.
