The eye of Di-Rym, one of the symbols of my power and the only object that can reset and restore my magical power.
I held the eye in my hand. Gazing upon the small orb, its aura filled the room.
To restart my power requires a ceremony of sorts; a transfer of energy, of mana.
"I offer the Eye, the exchange of magic, do you accept this flow of magic."
"I do."
"Then present to the eye a symbol of your consent and place your hand upon it."
I watched Glynda nod her head in acceptance, then with her finger drew something on the surface of the orb.
Glynda placed her palm upon the surface of the Eye. With a deep breath I watched as pure starlight energy surrounded her, illuminating the room. Like a black hole the energy vanished, being drawn in to the void.
A great wind gathered to the center of the eye. Every candle went out, and there was a darkness about us. Within moments the light returned to in a flash as the flames reignited.
"There it's done . . ." She said her voice began to trail off.
"Glynda!"
I watched helplessly as she collapsed.
