The Dark One held me hand, she turned and moved it staring intensely at it. She then placed her other hand on my forearm.

Magical energy moved outward forming a ring around my arm. Slowly an uncomfortable pressure began to build up on that spot. I reflexively pulled back, but I was stopped, held in place by the Dark One's grip.

"Don't move," she said without taking her eye off my hand.

Slowly the pressure began to fade until it was gone. She then turned my palm upward and placed two fingers near my wrist.

She continued in silence for a few moments before she let go and began to stand up.

"Your condition is good," she said. "I want you to continue resting for the remainder of the day and tomorrow, then you'll be able to go back to work after that," she added while walking to the door.

With the flick of her finger that tray Levitated and floated toward her, "I'll be back to check on you in a few hours," she said walking out the door.

The door closed and I was left with an unnerving silence.

Was she always that kind?
