I felt darkness all around me.
I felt like I was floating.
I felt like I was encased in a cocoon that protected me, comforting me.
Then I felt the cocoon dissolve as if I was emerging reborn as a butterfly.
Somehow that blissful feeling felt wrong, incorrect.
It was as though the darkness was masquerading as light.
Slowly my conscious returned to the outside world. I felt a softness surrounding me, something I had not felt in a long time.
The softness of bed.
As if my mind would let me sleep no longer, my eyes opened. I was in an unfamiliar room.
I looked around only to see that which made my blood cold and my heart stop for a moment.
"Good morning, or rather good afternoon," a familiar voice called out to me.
