You examined the parchment in your hands. On it was a set of written instructions.
「Tonight at the midnight hour, go to the crossroad beyond the castle. Bury a wish bone of a fowl and burn this parchment. I will ferry you to your home.」
After reading the parchment you quickly gathered your things stuffing the parchment, some flint and kindling in your pocket.
You grabbed your cloak and went to the kitchen. You stole away the leftover bones of the evening meal and reader straight for the castle door.
You passed by the guards who looked away from you without bothering to stop you.
Either they had orders to not stop you or they did not care either way.
You pushed open the door feeling the night wind on your face.
"Milian!" A woman called out to you.
The voice was soothing but left a pain in your heart. You turned to see it was your mother.
"Why are you here?" You asked.
"Why would I not come to see you off," she replied.
"...," words you wanted to say were stuck in your throat.
"It's alright dear, I know. Please take care of yourself," your mother said.
