"Huh!" I replied.

"Was I not clear? Start running," she said calmly.

"Uhhh?" I stammered.

"This wasn't a suggestion," She said with said with the wave of a finger.

I felt a force push me from behind. Unable to resist, my legs began to move.

"Now then," my master opened the book, "ahem," with a strong cough, she cleared her throat, "Introduction to the magical arts. Magic is a force that many throughout the world regard as supernatural in origin. In reality, magic is quantifiable."

She paused for a moment before continuing, "However, understanding its processes is complex and often times difficult to understand. Magic is defined as the conscious or unconscious ability to alter and manipulate the laws of nature via the combination of mana through its derivative energies, through physical mediums and through thoughts, chants, gestures, and/or scripts."

As I continued to run, my master continued to read. Anytime I began to slow down, I felt a push against my back, forcing me to move faster.

This kept going until I could no longer run.

"Hmm, barely half. We will be working to improve your stamina. Not bad for a first day," she said as I collapsed to the ground.
