The next few days passed quietly, though it was an eerie sort of quiet. Nothing was out of place or beyond the ordinary, yet all the same, something felt different, and that thought left me feeling uneasy.

After the two days had passed, I went back to my normal tasks but the Dark One insisted I not overwork myself and take breaks every few hours.

When lunchtime had arrived, I made a couple of sandwiches, soup, and a small salad. I carried the tray from the kitchen to her room making sure to take caution of the stairs.

I looked at the spot where I fell and felt a discomfort. I remembered the incident vaguely, but it felt odd like a memory that was out of body, I pictured how I had fallen. A cold sweat ran over me.

I shook it all and went to the Dark One's study.

"Mistress, lunch is served," I said knocking on the door.

"You may enter," she replied.

I turned the handle and pushed open the door.
