"A coin for your thought?" You said softly as you walked up to Grant.

The man in front of you snapped out of his bubble and slowly looked up at you with a warm smile. Ah, this is how good butterflies feel like. Grant wore black jeans, with a black shirt which was unbuttoned at the top, revealing a bit of his skin. Of course, Ward was dressed well, but what stole your heart was his eyes. They were magnetic, you couldn't help but feel drawn to him.

"I hope you can forgive me," you said, and you sat down beside him by the bar.

"I had to help the Avengers," You smirked, a little bit proud of yourself.

Grant chuckled. He wasn't mad at you. He understood how the industry you worked in operated, after all, you had this in common. He smiled as you sat down beside him. You were glowing. You were so proud to tell him that you had helped the Avengers, and it is smiting over at him. Grant missed the thrill he felt at the beginning. How every challenge felt so big and important, even when they're in reality at the size of a pea. Watching you, made him happy.

"Ooo, look at you playing with the big boys," Grant shook his head playfully down at you.

It was in that movement you caught a look at the big bruise he had gotten on the other side of his face. You knew these things were normal. People get hurt all the time in this field, but this still felt... weird. It got quiet between the two of you. It was probably your turn to fire back at him, but you were too concerned about his bruise. You swallowed. You were probably going to regret this.

"I see you got a bruise..." You shrugged, pointing at the area on your own face where Grant had gotten a bruise. Grant took a big zip of his whiskey.

"Mission went south, and it unfortunately took a violent turn," He said, clearly trying to be careful about what he was saying.

"Everyone got out safe?" You asked, just to be sure.

"Bruised, but safe," Grant smiled weakly.

His smile, his little hidden smile was so beautiful. For some reason, you found Grant to be very comforting. His energy was warm, yet a bit reluctant, but no more than a general spy should be. His body language was caring. You looked up at him, making sure that you got proper eye contact with him.

"I'm glad to hear that," you said, laying your hand over his.

How... How did you dare to lay your hands on another man like that, Steve thought to himself. He had been looking at the two of you since the second you entered the room. You had taken your time getting ready, and Steve had causally planted himself in the room, hanging out with Thor and Bucky. He couldn't be care less about what his friends was talking about, he just needed to know what you were saying, what you were doing.

This moment felt magical. Both of you staring at your hands touching. It felt special. You felt special around Grant. Synchronized the two of you look up and into each others eyes. You know kissing someone on a first date isn't perhaps the best idea, especially after only exchanging a few sentences, but this moment... it felt like the right. You carefully leaned in, and Grant took the hint placing his hands around your waist.

"Hello agent Y/n, how are you doing?" And there the whole moment was destroyed. Both you and Grant turn around to see Steve in front of you. This mothef*cker couldn't let you have anything nice.

"Good," you answered short.

It was truly not Steve you were interested in, not in this moment. You had been so obsessed about him, and this was finally a chance at getting someone new. A fresh thought. Not only that, but someone normal and healthy.

"Good...Good, good is good, I'm checking on all the students..." Steve said placing his hands on his hips.

You lifted your eyebrows, did he think you were going to say anything back to him? You didn't want his attention. You wanted Grant's hands that were still resting around your waist to draw you close to him and kiss you. You wanted a sweet moment, with someone new and you wanted it now. Unfortunately Steve just stood there, which made both you and Grant uncomfortable.

"Well, you got a good one here," Grant said, trying to lighten up the mood of the room.

Steve had to hide his hand as he could feel his hands tighten into a fist. Of course, you were great, but Grant was no man to say that. He hadn't seen how you work, how you behave. Grant just said that to charm you, it had no reality to it. Steve leaned over the bar counter and grabbed a beer. Slowly opening it and taking a sip, carefully plotting his next steps.

"Yeah, she is truly something special," Steve said looking down at you.

No, no, no... those awful feelings you felt for Steve were washing over you again the second he complimented you. He probably didn't even mean it, he was just being weird, but it meant something to you, and you were a fool if you denied it – and that was exactly what you were. A fool.

"'Coulson and I are planning to offer her a place on the team when she's done at the academy," Grant said, ignoring Steve and giving you his full attention.

"What? Really? That would be amazin-" You said lighting up again. You could feel your heartbeat speeding up. This was exactly what you had been dreaming of. It was literally what you had thought about since the second you realized it was Grant by the bar.

"I'm sorry, can I borrow Y/n for a minute.. Alone," Steve's tone was darkning.

"You don't need to lea-" you said looking up at Grant, but his hands was already off your body.

"Of course, I don't want to be in the way of Captain America," Grant said displeased as he left into the shadows of the room.

You looked up at Steve furious. You promise, that if you could, you would've punched him so hard right now, and that was exactly what you tried to do. You punched Steve in his chest annoyed, but it didn't even make him flinch.

"My office now," he said looking at how pathetic you were for trying to harm him.

You shook your head, you weren't going to just follow orders when you were off duty. It didn't make sense. It wasn't fair. Steve thought he could always show up and just take you. That wasn't how you worked. You weren't just a doll for him to play with. Though that's exactly how he treated you.

"I gave you a chance to walk on your own two feets first, remember that," Steve said before he stepped closer to you. He placed his beer on the bar desk. You looked up at him confused. He leaned down. What was he trying to do?

"What are you... FUCK-" You yelled out the last word the second he grabbed your hips and threw you over his shoulder.

"Whatch your dirty tounge," Steve hissed as he entered the office and smacked your ass before putting you down to the floor again.

"WHAT THE HELL STEVE!?" You yelled at him in frustration.

"It's Captain"
