Ch 32. Merc With A Mouth

It's just turned in December. The cold weather sometimes has snow that comes out of the clouds, though only a little. With more clothes on than before, Y/N is in the meeting room, alongside with the rest of his housemates. Luckily, after some time off, it appears Charles and Jean turned to be alright. Jean is still spooked about what happened, however all she said she didn't remember what happened. Charles and Hank further analyze Jean, but from what Y/N knows, nothing came out of it.

Anyway, back to the present. The meeting room certainly filled up nicely. It first started with five people, him, Charles, Logan, Ororo and Hank. Then one day people flows in, Scott, Jean, Kurt, Kitty, Rogue and Bobby. After a while, Piotr lives with them as well and now possibly Remy too.

Charles is standing at the end of the table. Everybody that isn't a student is sitting near him while the students are a few feet away. "I summoned you all here for two missions. It's been a while that some of you were on the field, so I don't want your skills to become rusty. I plan to split the X-Men into two groups-"

"Does that include me?" Remy hand is raised while he's interrupting Charles.

"Have you ever learned to listen before asking?" Logan responds to Remy's action.

Before Remy could make a snarky remark, Charles quickly speaks up. "That includes you well. Now, the first team will be dealing with a lethal mutant, who's known to be brutal and mentally unstable. I have my eyes on him to enroll him into the team."

Almost everybody look concerned at what Charles is saying. "Chuck, do I really need to make a remark of how stupid that sounds." Logan is skeptical of the plan, as well as other people.

"I don't think a mentally unstable man doesn't belong on a team." Piotr gives his opinion. "Maybe to help him, he can live here, but on the field?"

"I know, I know, but I don't think he will be harming us." Charles replies calmly. "He never harmed an innocent person and only killed people he considers bad."

"And what exactly does he considers bad?" Bobby continues the train of thought of the group.

"Criminals, nothing less." Charles replies. "The second mission has to do with the MRD. I have information that they are doing something illegal. After discussing it with SHIELD, we're allowed to take care of it."

"And what are they doing then?" Jean asks.

"Holding innocent mutants." Charles replies. Y/N is disgusted when he hears the news, as well for a few other people. "We're breaking them out and arrest the MRD agents." Charles concludes the mission briefing. "Now, we have 12 people in total, so each group has six members. The first group consists of Storm, Colossus, Unity, Shadowcat, Iceman and Gambit, with Storm as the captain. The second team consists of Wolverine, Beast, Cyclops, Jean, Nightcrawler and Rogue, with Wolverine has the leader. Any objections?"

Nobody speaks up. Charles hums. "Alright. Let's discuss each mission into further detail."

Colossus is driving a bus that the X-Men sometimes use, while Storm is sitting next to the giant. In the back of the bus, Unity, Shadowcat, Iceman and Gambit are sitting. During the meeting, they got info that the guy that they look for is wearing red spandex. From the pictures that they got, the face isn't visible and is behind a mask. The assassin is using swords as his preferred weapons. Afterwards, they got inform that the mutation of the assassin is similar of Logan, regeneration, though for now it's unknown how powerful his mutation is. Lastly, they got informed that the guy is currently in the city.
