Ch 72. The Mutant Tracker

"Agent Hill, we successfully caught and transported the prisoner to the Raft."

"Good. Continue working."

At the SHIELD building in Vancouver, despite all the drama going on, SHIELD is still working hard to do their duties. After receiving the news, Maria Hill continues her work and go through the hallway. She eventually gets stopped by her colleague that is around her status.

"It's about Fury. He's requesting you to go back to New York tomorrow."

"Tell him I will be there." Maria replies. Suddenly, a loud blast can be heard, as well as a little shake. With next moving over the alarm. With haste, she quickly put her finger against her earpiece. "What's going on?"

"We're under attack by the X-Men!" The security team replies. "They blew a hole on the back."

"Damnit." She knew then Steve probably slipped the fact Caliban. "Tell everyone to put on their helmets and one half hold them back! The other half needs to guard the prison!"

Looking down from the Blackbird, Y/N looks down to see half of the team fighting on the ground, causing a distraction. It seems they got SHIELD's attention. With the cloaking device turned on, they won't even bother shooting at the plane. Besides Y/N is Scott and Steve, joining him to look down.

"I sensed him. He's imprisoned underground."

"What do you want us to do?" Steve asks.

"We go down and phase through the ground and into the cell. There, we break him free. There are going to be a lot of guards, so we first send out those experienced in combat. Afterwards, we use Shadowcat's ability to free Caliban from his cell and break him free."

"Smart. Causing a distraction to have their forces split up, making up with our low numbers." Steve complements Y/N.

"We do it a lot, and we're constantly successful. But now to get to work." Y/N looks behind him to the team members he's brining along. Logan, Kitty, Bobby, Piotr and Alex are going to join him, as well Scott and Steve. Meanwhile the rest, Rogue, Gambit, Hank, Kurt, Wanda, Pietro and Deadpool are on the ground and being led by Ororo. "Alright people. It's time to go."

"Finally." Logan says with a smirk. "Let's drop down."

"Actually, I have a different plan." Y/N responds, causing Logan to raise an eyebrow. "Everyone, stand together." Although not fully getting what Y/N is up to, they did. Standing in a circle, the telepath uses the Phoenix' ability to wrap them down there.

Within a second later, their surroundings change. They expected to wrap near the building, however, they appear in a park that is near the building.

"Shit!" Y/N curses. Everyone looks at him for an explanation. "I thought I could control this new power..." He looks disappointed, expected more for himself.

"No need to worry. We're nearby." Piotr looks to the tall skyscraper that is luckily not too far away. They only need a couple of minutes to run towards there.

Before running to their destination, Y/N looks back at the jet, to see it flying away. Now it's safe, the team run towards the building. With it being just passed midnight, nobody is around to see them. Going through the park, trees and a security fence, they arrive at the lot. With the other part of the team distracting SHIELD, they have some time before going in.
