Ch 10. Rescue Mission

The teenagers all change their clothes into their new X-Men uniforms. Y/N waits at the Blackbird with his father. The younger telepath is holding a tablet, reading about his housemates' mutation. "Kurt and Kitty have great mobility. A secondary telepath on the field makes things easier if we split up. Scott can creates ways to move forward, as well this team heavy fire. Bobby also has some combat potential, though it's better if we try to ignore any engagement with a foe. Lastly Rogue is our wild card. She only has to make physical contact in order get somebodies abilities, which means she can play any role the situation fits."

"Mutants are often considered weapons, however there are so much more things mutants can do beside fighting." Charles points out, happy his son as the same opinion. "Be creative with their gifts Y/N. Somebody's combat abilities can be use as something else entirely."

"I agree." Y/N stop reading the tablet. "Although the team is just considered rookies, I see major potential in them."

Y/N and Charles look at the entrance where the teenagers walk in the room. Kurt is wearing a black and red suit with white gloves, along side with a belt with a black X on it, as well with Bobby's suit, though he doesn't have the white gloves. Kitty has a similar suit but instead of the red color parts has a yellow part. Jean has a blue and yellow suit. Rogue also has black parts on her suit, but it gets complements with some velvet green parts. Lastly is Scott, who has the most unique out of the new recruits. His glasses change into a headset, where there is a line where the lasers are supposed to come out. It also connects till the ears. His outfit is a skin-tight black suit.

"I feel like I'm a part of the Avengers." Bobby chuckles because of the outfit. "We all look like badasses."

"I know, right?" Kitty wholeheartedly agrees.

"I'm glad you all like the suits." Charles smiles. "They are all designed around your mutation."

"How come you already got these suits?" Jean asks.

"Because I made them in advance." Charles responds to Jean question. "I had a hunch some of you are interested to join the X-Men."

"Speaking which, this is your first mission." Y/N speaks up. "I know you all are nervous. Many of you are inexperienced with this line of work, which is exactly why we are going to avoid any combat. The goal of this mission is to rescue our teammates and get out with everybody. We may have barely any muscles, but we're going to compensate it with brains. Together with our mutation, we're going to rescue them."

Everybody is riled up thanks to Y/N words. Charles looks proudly at the young ones. "I searched Logan, Ororo and Hank through Cerebro and my theory is correct. They are at the MRD base. I send the coordinates to the jet. I will provide help through Cerebro. The rest is up to you."

"I have vaith in us we can do zis." Kurt says confidently.

"As long we don't anything stupid." Rogue adds with a chuckle.

"If there isn't anything else to discuss, I think it's time we should go." Scott says.

Y/N hums. "To the jet!"

Y/N is flying the Blackbird towards the destination. Scott is sitting next to him, though he isn't steering the wheel. Behind them are Jean and Kurt, then Bobby and Kitty and lastly Rogue in the end. Everybody remains quietly, nervous what is about to come, except Kurt, who is silently praying for his friend's safety.

"We arrived." Y/N slows the jet down and land it on the ground. Thankfully of the stealth mode on, you can't detect, hear or see it. He landed it nearby. Y/N as well with his crew walk out of the jet and towards a hiding place. They look at the base. Again, it's nighttime, which makes Y/N happy because he can use that to his advantage. Like the last time, there are guards walking around the place with lights pointing everywhere. "This is it." He turns back at his new teammates. "Dad?" He asks through the comms.
