The only sound that can be heard is the beeping of the machine. The very same machine that indicates that the patient is alive. Yet, it doesn't feel like the patient is alive, as she is merely staring, with no reaction from anybody in the room. There is no reaction from sounds, touching, or anything. This freaks her best friend out.
"Tell me she's going to be okay..."
The doctor, who's standing on the other side of the bed, feels sorry for the man. "I'm afraid this may be permanent, or at last years. Romanoff's brain activity has been increased and decreased in different areas, changing the location of where each mental part is. I can compare it like a solved puzzle, which is now unsolved with pieces switched up, changed and disappeared."
Clint looks back at Natasha, holding her hand in the process, feeling extremely worried and scared for her. "Can you leave us be...?"
"Of course..." The doctor walks away, leaving the room, leaving the two alone.
"Nat... can you hear me?" There is no reaction from Natasha. Clint begins to feel desperate for any reaction from her. "Please... Please don't leave me..." He clutches her hand tighter, however, all she does is looking mindlessly forward. "Natasha...!"
Clint jumps when he hears the door open. He quickly turns his head around to see Fury walking in the room, feeling sorry for the two of them. "My deepest apologies for Natasha. The doctors are working their best to search a solution."
"Is there such a solution for what happened to her...?" Clint looks doubtful at him.
"We wouldn't know unless we try." Fury responds calmly. "Though I have something to ask for you, which requires you to leave Romanoff for a while."
"And that is...?"

Back at the Avengers base, which also functioned as a SHIELD operation base, there are six men in the conference room. 5 of them are sitting around a long table, while Fury is standing on the edge. He's in front of a large screen that displays multiple images with text with information.
"I'm certain you heard what happened with Agent Romanoff."
"We heard." Bruce is the first one to speaks. Everybody is eager to know more about the situation. Clint, meanwhile, is looking distant.
"I will remind you what happened. Five years ago, we're aware of a dangerous individual know as Y/N Xavier, Charles Xavier's son. After investigating, we theorized that Y/N is holding the power of the Phoenix. So, after he, Logan Howlett, as well for Scott Summers left and got into hiding, we knew he was the vessel of the Phoenix. During the years, we investigate where they may be, until recently. Our goal was to capture Y/N, so we send a squad with agents to tranquilize and capture him, without being spotted. However, we miscalculated. Y/N, as well for Howlett and Summers took them down with ease."
"How could that be? I thought your soldiers were supposed to be the best of the best." Thor wonders.
"It's simple. They were simply better, as much I don't want to admit it." Fury looks extremely disappointed. Not with his men, but in himself. "If it was just Howlett and Summers, it would've been plausible. Xavier, however, put 33 SHIELD agents to sleep within a second. He wasn't even struggling with it."
"Meaning Y/N could whoop our asses if he wants to." Tony concludes.
"And thus, I'm putting this case as an Avenger-level threat." Fury announces. "And today, I will give out the plan."
