Ch 66. The Tragedy Of Genosha

From one side to the other side, the two forces meet up each other and fight each other. About every SHIELD member have zero chance towards the X-Men, yet the Avengers does. Both sides are ready to kill each other if they have to, yet there are some who are hesitate. Bobby, Kurt and Kitty are still not willing to take another life. As for the other side, Steve, Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne are on the fence.

After some minutes of heavy fighting, Steve manages to topple Toad. The mutant manages to grab the shield from the American hero, who throws it in retaliation. By doing this, the mutant falls on the ground, with Steve on top of him and grabs him by the collar, yet he stiffs up. He prefers arresting Toad. With the small window of opportunity, Toad spits Captain America on his face. With green, sticky goo on his face, Steve jumps and tries to smear off the goo.

Toad let out a smug chuckle. "Idiot." The man stops smiling as an arrow suddenly pierces through his face.

Steve flinches as he hears the man deaths. He quickly removes the goo to see Toad on the ground, dead. Just by seeing the arrow, he knows who did this and look up to see Clint staring at him blankly. The archer is on a building that survived the earthquake. Steve knows he's communicating to do better, yet he's still on the fence.

At the other side of the battlefield, in the sky, Falcon is flying and chasing Ororo, who's trying to avoid his attacks. Shooting, bashing, hitting, he barely did anything to her. But with Storm being distracting at all the SHIELD agents, he has plenty of opportunity, until Alex manages to shoot his wing.

With worry in his eyes, Sam looks worried at his right wind, which begins to slightly burn. "Shit!" For his safety, he flies back to the ground, but with the wings being damaged, he crashes in a building at the edge of the island. His head ache's as he looks up from the slight rubble he created. The Avenger put his finger against his earpiece. "I'm down. Can someone-"

He stops talking when he sees Captain America sprinting towards him. "You alright, soldier?"

"I'm fine. Just need to fix my wing." Sam gladly accepts Captain America's hand. As he lifts the wounded man up, Falcon suddenly gets a piercing pain at his gut. With a frighten look on his face, he looks back at 'Steve'. "You're not him..." Instinctively, he puts his hand against his gut, yet the wound it's too large to survive.

The person who impersonates Steve glows up their eyes with the color yellow. "Rest in peace..." Mystique without a care drops Sam on the ground.

With a proud smirk, she turns around, but stops as Iron Man just entered the building and aims his build in machine gun towards her. "Thought you could life? Don't think so." He fires multiple bullets at her. She quickly rolls on the side, yet a couple of bullets it her in the stomach as she let out a scream.

She covers herself behind a wall. Tony is ready to finish her off, but suddenly a blue mist appears. The man can feel someone on top off him, but he can't react in time as he suddenly appears somewhere else, back at the beach to his confusion.

Kurt reappears inside of the building after taking care of Iron Man. With haste, he discovers Mystique, who's lying on the ground, with her back sitting against the wall. Blood is pouring out of her body from the bullet holes Iron Man inflicted.

"Mystique!" Kurt grabs the wounded woman to teleport her away. They reappear inside of the castle, inside of a louche area. He softly put her upper body in his hands.

"Kurt...?" She put her weak hand on Kurt's scared face. "Kurt..."

"I'm here. I'm here!" Kurt is sure to assure her that he's here.
