Ch 68. Exposing The Truth

Y/N watches his team getting in the Blackbird, again in their suits for another mission. He begins to count how many units he has under his control. From the X-Men, he has Logan, Ororo, Hank, Piotr, Gambit, Rogue, Bobby, Kitty and Kurt. From Genosha he has the crown prince and princess, Pietro and Wanda, as well for Alex and Deadpool. In total 14. He has yet to talk with Scott if he comes as well, and one other person too...

"So, you're staying?"

"Someone has." Domino offers to stay behind to look out for the island and its people. "Lady luck will keep us safe."

Y/N hopes that's true. They're already attacked once. Another attack would at least hurt them severely. "Try to make the citizens safe. Keep rebuilding and training. Alright?"

"Roger that. Good luck."

She walks away, leaving Y/N attention to shift to someone else. "Hey."

"Hey." Scott receives a peck on his lips when he gets greeted by Y/N.

He looks at Scott's attire. He's wearing his suit, with still his headset. However, now he has a sniper and a pistol holster at his belt. "You're coming?"

"I'm lost my mutation, but I can still fight."

Y/N quietly hums. He knows Scott is still motivated to fight by his side, even without his mutation. "And what about your injury?"

Scott holds his wound at his left arm. "I'm going to take it easy. I will be staying at the back, do what I do, without getting injured. Though it means I can't be by your side."

"Scott... I will be fine. You're not the only one that is protecting me. We're in a group. 15 in total. I can tell almost everyone will take a bullet for me if it comes to the worse, even if I don't want it."

"I understand." He looks back at the jet. "Do you think we're closed to the end? If we leak this, then it means the end of SHIELD, doesn't?"

"I'm not completely sure. At best, this will end SHIELD, which ends the fight. At worst, SHIELD continues to exist. It's better we prepare for the latter."

"I agree." Scott begins to smile at his beloved. "The sooner we end this, the sooner the wedding can begin."

Y/N chuckles. "As soon it all end, we're going to get wed, if we get my father back. Deal?"

"Deal."

Inside of the cold room inside HYDRA research base, the leader of the soldiers is doing his usual business. He gets report after report about different research projects they have been doing. All seem to be well, until...

"Sir, we're under attack!"

"What!?" The leader called Baron Strucker is shocked they ever find out by anyone. He wonders if those he allied with SHIELD betrayed him. "Is it SHIELD?"

"No. It's the X-Men."

Strucker looks surprised. "Gather the soldiers and fight back." This is bad news. This probably means other people know they're occupying the place. Knowing this, he and the research are in great danger.

"Yes sir!" The soldier sprints away.

The entire based turned into chaos as every soldier are heading outside, where the fight takes place. Meanwhile, Strucker remains calm as he heads one of the experiment rooms. There, he sees multiple scientists with multiple soldiers with them.
