Ch 57. Reunited

In the dark of night, the three men are running away inside of a forest. Logan is carrying Y/N on his back, who's beyond tired. Although their greatest weapon with them, with Y/N feeling exhausted, he thus can't help much. Scott, meanwhile, runs ahead to see if the path is safe. All the while, SHIELD agents are on their trail. Knowing things can't go like this, Scott speaks up.

"We need to find a hiding place, even if it's outside."

"Easier said then done." Logan scoffs, his wounds completely gone.

"Logan, we can't go run forever."

"Don't you think I know that." Logan can feel Y/N beginning to sleep on his back, making him think about the best of his family. "I have a plan... one reliable."

Scott looks behind him for a second before continuing moving. "And that is?"

"You take Y/N while I fight the rest."

Scott knows what Logan's actually means. "You offer yourself as bait for us?"

"It's the only way. It's the best way to guarantee Y/N's safety."

Scott begins to think about it. Y/N will never forgive both of them if they follow along with Logan's plan, yet, it seems better to be captured by SHIELD or relying on a miracle. They stop running, standing in the middle of a forest with SHIELD agents behind them.

Scott turns around to look at Logan. "Fine... Let's do it..."

Logan walks over to Scott and hand over Y/N, who's now on Scott's back. After making sure Scott is holding Y/N tightly, Logan begins to step back. "Make sure to tell the kid I'm sorry... and promise me whatever happens, Y/N is safe..."

Before Scott could respond, he feels a rain drop on his face, which follows up with more as soon it begins to rain. Scott looks up as he can feel Y/N shiver. Out of nowhere, flashes can be seen, and thunder can be heard, making Scott confused.

"Scott... tell me Y/N is going to be safe."

Without looking away, Scott looks at the sky. "It was supposed to be a clear sky today."

"Scott!"

Scott looks back, seeing a panicked Logan. He can't help but have a smile on his face, knowing this weather isn't naturel. "I don't think you need to go."

"Huh?"

"Targets spotted!" Logan quickly looks behind him, seeing the SHIELD agents finally catching them. "Hands up where we can see-!" As the SHIELD agents begins to lift up their guns, suddenly, the nearest of the group suddenly get surrounded by black smoke. A second later, the smoke disappears, as does the person, making all the SHIELD agents panic.

Y/N, who got woken up by the rain, observed what happened and get a surge of energy and hope in his body. "It's them...! Scott, it's them...!" Logan grabs Scott and drags him, as well for Y/N, behind a tree to let their saviors deal with the SHIELD agents. They do look at the scene.

They see an agent, being dragged to the ground and getting stuck. An other get pushed at against a tree with ice and get stuck against it. The entire group of agents look around as they get slowly being taken down one by one.

"Target spotted! Shoot!"

At the back of the crowd agents are shooting against someone that the trio can't see, however, they can hear the sound of bullets ricochet from metal, posing a distraction for the rest. A large group get swept away via the wind, throwing them a couple of feet away. Other agents scream in feat as suddenly their weapons explode after being lighten up and throwing it away. A small group agent suddenly collapses one by one on the ground. Then other's get taken down via a shadowy figure who has with ease dodging their bullets. With a quick paste, the SHIELD agents either disappears or get defeated.
