Stefan: He tried to function after you left, he really did. But it wasn't easy without you, the love of his life, by his side. He put up a tough front when around everyone, but would break out into tears whenever he was left with his thoughts, which were only filled with you.
He returned home one day, and slumped onto your once shared bed. He sat up, taking your pillow into his hands carefully as he thought of you. Bringing the pillow up to his face, he smelt the sweet scent of your perfume lingering in the cotton. And it brought him to tears. He gripped it tighter and held his breath as he desperately tried to hold back sobs, a painful lump forming in his throat.
The knocking of the front door pulled him away from the bed. Taking a deep breath in an attempt to compose himself, he headed down to the door.
"Hey Stef." Bonnie greeted sympathetically. "Listen, don't get your hopes up, but I want to- basically, I want to try and bring y/n back." She finally spat out.
"You can do that?" He asked breathlessly, in total shock.
"It's worth a try." She said, cocking her head to the side. "So what do you say?" She asked quizzically. He hadn't even comprehended the possibility of you coming back, he couldn't even put word together, so he simply held his breath, and nodded frantically. The ritual had been set up. Bonnie sat wearily in the centre of a ring of candles.
"Are you sure?" Stefan asked cautiously.
"I want my best friend back." She chocked out, quite obviously holding back tears. "Of course I am."
She began to chant, reading the spell from an old grimoire. Her eyes closed and the flames dancing upon the wicks of the candles shot up into large bursts of fire, illuminating the room.
"Bonnie?" Stefan asked worriedly as the wind began to pick up outside, pushing the door open with a bang. She raised her voice as she continued to chant, ignoring the severe environment around. All of a sudden, her chanting came to a stop. As did the wind. The candle blew themselves out and everything became eerily quiet and still. The two of them looked around in confusion, remaining completely silent in anticipation. Stefan looked back to Bonnie, shooting her a weary glance, confused. She returned the look with a large smile, which burrowed Stefan even deeper into confusion.
"Hello Stefan."
His breath got caught in his throat and he couldn't even force himself to blink. Looking up, he noticed Bonnie holding back tears as she smiled. Instantly spinning around, he let out a shaky breath as his eyes found yours. Using his legs as fast as they could take him, he sped over to you and pulled you into his arms without hesitation.
"I never thought I'd see you again." He cried over your shoulder. You let out a small laugh that consisted mainly of a breath you didn't know you were holding. Looking over his shoulder as you stood in his tight embrace, you looked into Bonnie's teary eyes as she smiled at you. Tears became evident in yours as well as you strengthened your grip on Stefan. Mouthing an emotional 'thank you' to her, she nodded happily, leaving the room to let Stefan have his moment.
"I don't know what I would have done if I had to spend another day without you." He sobbed happily. Softly hushing him, you smiled into his chest. "It doesn't matter, because you won't have to."Damon: These had been the hardest seven months of Damon's entire life. Without you to hold him back, his alcohol consumption almost tripled, the drinks being thought to numb the pain, the feelings, although it just made it easier to let it out instead. He sat himself in the parlour, much like he did any other day, and drank away his sorrows.
"Damon, we need to talk to you." Stefan spoke up, walking into the room sternly with none other than Bonnie Bennett behind him.
"Oh god, please don't tell me this is this an intervention." He joked, flashing his infamous smirk before taking another chug from the bottle.
"Damon, this is serious." Bonnie chimed in, gesturing for him to put down the bottle.
"Alright, listen, i'll sit through this but I'm not promising to join 'AA' or anything like that." He sighed, putting the bottle down and leaning back into the chair.
"I'm sure you're aware of 'the other side' right?" Bonnie asked, ignoring Damon's sarcasm.
"Yeah." He answered obviously.
"Then your aware of the veil separating it from our world?" She continued.
"Of course." He answered again, looking to Stefan for confirmation as to what the Bennett which was getting at.
"Then you know what will happen when it drops."
"Woah, wait, wait, wait." He said suddenly, standing up from the chair.
"The veil's dropping?"
"Yes, Damon." Stefan answered calmly.
"That means- Oh my god. Bonnie, can you?" The smile began to grow on his face as he thought of the possibility.
"I'm not guaranteeing anything, but I promise to try." She smiled at him.
"Bonnie Bennett, I could kiss you." He joked, pulling her into a friendly hug.
Less than two weeks later and the veil had dropped. You, being a supernatural creature, now had the chance to return back home. Back to Damon. Back to your life. The veil could only be down for so long before Bonnie had to put it back up. Which didn't leave you much time. She stood in the middle of the forest, constantly chanting, as she, the anchor, brought people back. You had been watching over everyone from the other side, and speaking to Bonnie, so you knew the plan. You ran to the woods, where the ritual was taking place and soon found Bonnie, Damon standing close by, waiting anxiously.
"Bonnie!" You yelled over the howling wind.
"Come on, grab my hand." She smiled calmly. Damon stood nervously as he waited to see who she was talking to.
"Sorry about this." You said hesitantly.
"It's fine. This is all worth it to have my friend back." She spoke softly. As you grabbed her hand, a quick rush of pain hit her, but she was so used to it, she barely reacted. After a second, the wind had stopped, and the dark ambiance had been replaced with one of light and peace.
"y/n." Damon breathed suddenly.
"Damon." You sighed back.
You collapsed into each other instantly and fell into a strong, warm embrace.
"Seven months." He sighed, tightening his grip on your waist at the thought.
"I was there the whole time." You spoke quietly.
"I lost control." He said, his face tightening into a grimace. "I couldn't- I went out of my mind without you."
Hushing him, you brought hands up to the base of his neck comfortingly and looked into his eyes.
"It's okay." You smiled wearily, your eyes tearing up. Slowly breaking out into a smile, he pulled you flush against his chest.
"I missed you so goddamn much y/n."Klaus: Each and every day brought Niklaus more and more pain. You had been gone for almost a year, and he had returned back to his cruel, unforgiving self. Although when he had you, things were very different. When you died, had never experienced so much heartache. He considered flipping the switch, turning it all off, but he knew what you would say if you were there. And it was those little things, those thoughts and memories of you, that kept him going. The veil to the other side had been dropped temporarily, and Bonnie Bennett, the anchor, was able to bring people back. She stood in the woods off of the cemetery, chanting. You approached slowly, unsure if the spell was really working, if the veil was really down.
"Bonnie?" You called out. You were close with the witch when you were alive. Being one yourself, you helped each other understand your powers, and shared an almost sisterly bond. Giving you a tearful, yet warm smile, she held her hand out to you.
"When you get back, you find Klaus straight away. We can do the sappy reuniting thing later, he needs you now." She smiled. You giggled happily, your own eyes becoming teary before you grabbed her hand gently and left 'the other side.'
She gave you a quick smile before shooing you off to find Niklaus. Running back through the woods you dodged the tree's and took in as much sun as you could, realizing just how much you took it for granted. Rounding a corner, you saw a familiar figure in the distance. Moving closer hesitantly, you made your way into a full sprint when you saw who it was. Klaus.
"Nik!" You screamed happily as you ran. His face lit up in shock and he sped directly into you, almost knocking you off of your feet and into his strong arms. He picked you up and span your figure around before setting you down gently and bringing your lips to his in a soft kiss. Pulling away slowly, you lifted a hand to caress the side of his face as you laughed happily, tears of joy escaping your eyes. Niklaus gazed into your eyes in pure admiration, the smile on his face only growing wider.
"I love you so much y/n. Every ounce of pain I have ever felt, could never amount to the heartache I suffered when you left." He breathed, tears beginning to well in his eyes as he gazed at you.
"I love you too Nik. More than you could ever know."Elijah: Moving back to Mystic Falls was both the best, and worst decision you made. The whole 'supernatural problem' meant you were in permanent danger, but you also met the love of your life, so every second was worth it.
Elijah. He was a kind man, very chivalrous, very handsome. He was perfect in your eyes, as you were in his.
When your cousin, Jeremy, became a hunter, he had no more use for his Gilbert ring, so he gave it to you. And it was lucky he did, because a little over a week later, trouble had rolled around.
Elijah had sworn to always protect you, but of course, he couldn't always be there. A local wolf pack had arrived at your's and Elijah's shared house, their goal; getting information from Elijah about Niklaus and his whereabouts and bargaining with him to leave them be. Their leverage; You.
A loud bash on the door echoed through the house. Elijah was out, and thinking that the worst it could be were vampires, who wouldn't be able to enter your home anyway, you opened the door.
"Can I help you?" You asked wearily, poking your head out from the door. Four dark haired men, with scruffy facial hair stood in your presence. Each one glaring at you with pure hatred.
"Where's Elijah?" One of the men asked sternly. His question sounding more like a demand.
"He's not home at the moment. I can tell him you stopped bye-" You spoke quickly, realizing what was happening and beginning to close the door before you were cut off. A boot wedging itself in the gap in the door and a strong hand prying it back open.
"No. I think we'll leave him a little message instead." He grinned evilly. And then; nothing. Total darkness.
Elijah returned home, the smell of the werewolves lingering by the door caught him by surprise, and a burst of worry shot through him.
"y/n?!" He yelled, before opening the door to find your body sprawled out on the ground.
"y/n, my love." He breathed heavily, dropping to his knee's by your side and pulling you into his lap. He listening for a heartbeat. Nothing. Blood coursing through your veins? Nope. His breath hitched in his throat and he grasped you tighter in his arms as he desperately held back tears. A scream of anguish left his lips before he buried his face into your neck, beginning to sob. His tears were quickly interrupted when your heart sprung back to life. A sharp breath jolting you up as you clutched onto the fabric of his shirt, gasping for breath.
"Oh my god. y/n, how did- I thought you- Oh, my love." He mumbled out, pulling you back into his chest as he wept tears of joy.
"Jeremy gave my his Gilbert ring." You smiled, your voice raspy as you flashed the thick ring on your finger.
"Who did this to you?" He asked suddenly.
"I don't know their names, but it was that werewolf pack thats been harassing you lately." You spoke quietly, the pain in your neck still evident.
"I'll kill them. Every last one."EXAMS ARE OVER AND HOLIDAYS ARE COMING UP! Oh lord I am so happy!
