Stefan: He was on the verge of becoming a ripper again. Just a taste of human blood caused so much of an impact, three days later, and he was hooked again. At least he still had his humanity though.
Damon thought it best to lock him in the cellar until he showed some improvement. Slowly weaning him off of the human blood again, you only let him drink pre-drained animal blood in an effort to get him back into his old routine. He didn't look like himself. His face had lost almost all of its colour, he had bags under his eyes that looked as if they had been there for weeks, and his skin practically clung to his bones. He looked so weak. He just couldn't bring himself to drink the animal blood, it tasted foul in comparison to the human blood he so desperately craved.
You spent most of your days by the cellar door, just talking to him through the small bars. He didn't answer a whole lot, but you didn't expect him to in his state.
Damon finally let you talk him into allowing you into the cell, if only for a minute. Stefan wasn't drinking. You needed to try everything you could.
Slowly creeping into the cell, you looked back, and Damon shot you a sad smile before closing the door behind you.
"I'll be right out here, okay?" He assured you, hinting to the fact that it wasn't safe with Stefan at the time being.
"Thank's Damon." You half-smiled, turning back to Stefan, who sat slumped in to corner.
"Stefan?" You asked quietly, slowly shuffling closer to him, bottle of animal blood in hand. He looked up at you, eyes both fearful, and loving.
"y/n, it's not safe." He said, eyebrows furrowing, quite obviously trying to resist the urge to pull you into his arms, missing your touch since he had been locked up in there.
"I trust you." You said calmly, walking closer and kneeling down in front of him. He couldn't look you in the eyes, keeping them plastered to the floor for fear of hurting you if he saw you. A human.
You lifted his chin with your hand, his eyes hesitantly meeting yours.
"Here." you said firmly, placing your hands around his arms and standing up, bringing him to his feet with you.
"Drink this." You said softly, unscrewing the bottle and putting it into his hands. He shot you a pleading glance, but you shook it off, ushering him to drink. He sighed, trying to down the liquid, but choking and sputtering, pulling the bottle from his lips and hunching over, trying to catch his breath.
"I can't do it, I'm sorry." He almost whispered, tears welling up in his eyes as he choked on his words, disappointed in himself. Not being able to bare seeing his in such a way, you pulled him up and into your embrace, he hesitated, but quickly flung his arms around your torso, sighing as he finally got to hold you again.
You stayed like this for a little while longer, in each others arms, comforting one another. Within an instant, his urge for blood intensified and he just couldn't hold it back, no matter how hard he tried. He pushed you back into the stone wall with a thud.
"Stefan." You breathed, a sudden flood of fear washing over you at the sudden movement. He pulled back, his eyes a deep red with pure hunger, faint vains creeping out from underneath. Your breath hitched in your throat, and your eyes widened, as you saw him like this. Damon burst into the room and pushing him off of you. Flinging Stefan back into the corner, he pulled you behind him and you watched from over his shoulder as Stefan regained his stance, his face completely dropping, realizing what he had tried to do. What he could have done.
Tears already made their way to your eyes as Damon ushered you both out of the confined room cautiously, locking the door behind him as you stood, shaky against the wall.
