>>Part 4 of the pregnancy series- continuing from previous storylines.
Stefan: There was once a time when you believed your vampirism would leave the agony of pregnancy to go unnoticed. Boy, were you wrong.
It was like no other kind of pain you'd ever felt before. In fact, everything they said about childbirth was true. It was excruciating- but you couldn't have been happier. It was worth every single contraction and ounce of suffering when finally, after nine long months, you were able to meet your miracle-child.
>>
Stefan was right by your side the entire time, gripping your hand and brushing the hair from your face as you let out heavy, rigid breaths, and pain tore through you.
"Breathe." He reassured you kindly.
A shrill cry echoed through the room, and it brought tears to your eyes as you looked down to see the child you never thought you'd be able to have- your baby. Stefans grip on your hand tightened and his glassy eyes met yours with a contagious smile as he leant his forehead down to rest on yours.
"It's a girl." Meredith announced happily. Considering the abnormality of your pregnancy, you hadn't been sure just how normal the delivery was going to be, but Meredith- having already had her fair share of supernatural experiences- was more than happy to be there in place of a regular doctor.
She swaddled the baby tightly before handing her over to rest in your arms. She was beautiful. Never in your life had you imagined to bear witness to so much beauty, but there it was, held flush against your chest.
>>
"I can't believe it." You breathed in awe looking over at Stefan, only to find his eyes plastered to the child and a tearful grin tugging at his lips.
"Here." You smiled, leaning forward to hand him the baby. His eyes lit up, and carefully, he took her into his arms. Looking down at her, all Stefan could do was smile. Averting his gaze from his daughter, Stefan turned to look at you for what was perhaps the first time he had broken his trance on the small girl since her birth.
To him, you couldn't have looked more beautiful, and when you looked up to meet his eyes, the perfection of his life at that very moment hit him like a truck.
"Alexia." You suggested. "Lexi for short." The name was only fitting, for you would be over the moon to have your daughter turn out anything like the woman whom harboured such selfless compassion and loyalty. His heart skipped a beat, and if even possible, his smile grew.
"Lexi." He smiled to himself as he looked down at the small bundle in his arms. "It's perfect." He grinned, "And so is she."
Damon: ~Mystic Falls, 1864~
Droplets rolled from your forehead to your brow as you broke out into a sweat that Emily quickly wiped away with a damp cloth. How fast the time had flown. It seemed as if it were only yesterday that you had fallen madly in love with Damon Salvatore. And now you had started your family together.
Pain ripped through your torso and you let out a deep breath. He had been right by your side since the beginning, his excitement insatiable as his hand ran over your lower back in reassurance.
"Damon." You gasped through the pain.
"Yes, yes," He spoke hastily, "What is it? Anything."
