The common room in the morning was filled with quiet chatter and whispers, clearly about me because a wave of silence followed me everywhere I walked.

I sighed, finding a spot at a sink next to Natty in the bathroom.

"So, what are the rumours saying?" I asked her, putting toothpaste on my toothbrush.

"Well, I've heard that Garreth dumped you... you're pregnant and... you cheated on him with Sebastian."

"Oh, merlin..." I mumbled, my mouth full of foamy toothpaste.

I spat it in the sink, observing the room to see eyes on me.

"Well, none are true, obviously!" I said, loud enough for everyone to hear.

Natty and I walked to the Great Hall, our arms linked together.

"So, where did you disappear to last night? You didn't have prefect duty." Natty asked me.

"Now, don't go making assumptions, alright?"

Natty cocked an eyebrow at me.

"I was at the Astronomy tower."

"With...?"

"Sebastian."

"I knew it!"

"What do you mean, you knew it?"

"I see it, everyone sees it. Why do you think the rumours started? He knocked out Kale for you."

"Well, Garreth sure wasn't going to do it was he?"

Natty hummed slightly to herself as if she was in thought.

"Just, be careful. He has hurt you before."

"I know, Natty. I know."

I received word that afternoon that the Gryffindor Quidditch team was to meet ASAP after classes finished. I was so absorbed in just focusing my attention on class that I had forgotten I was even on the damn team.

I headed down alone after Charms had wrapped up and saw only two of my teammates on the pitch. Henry Finch and Georgia Bates.

"Hey, Rads."

Oh good, they don't hate me.

A few more joined us, though one was notably missing.

"So, uh, I guess no one else got my owl. But, we had to call this meeting for something pretty important." Henry said.

All eyes were glued to Henry as he exhaled deeply.

"Garreth's resigned from the team."

"What?!" was exclaimed from everyone and then all eyes turned on me.

"Uh, anyway... we verse Slytherin this weekend, probably our biggest challenge yet, so we need a new captain ASAP."

Everyone started chattering amongst themselves and I stood back.

"Any volunteers?"

Silence.

"Alright, well if no one wants it, I'll put my hand up for this weekend and we'll go from there." Henry said.

Everyone agreed. We were going to be slaughtered this weekend.

Henry dismissed us all and I headed straight to the Slytherin common room. Sebastian had failed to mention we'd be playing each other this weekend.

As I approached the wall where I was certain the door to the Slytherin common room was, it failed to appear. This wasn't fair, all Sebastian had to do was talk to a portrait to get into my common room.
