We were conned into staying at mum and dads slightly longer than I had hoped, but I made a quick getaway after lunch, practically dragging Sebastian out of the door with me.
We were drilled about our relationship. Bombarded with question after question.
The worst thing about coming from an upper-middle class family was the certain expectations set on us kids. Louis and Cecilia hid for years. As far as mum and dad knew, they were mutual friends and they were never alone unchaperoned. Which was total and utter bullshit because I caught them that many times in the middle of the act, I'm honestly shocked they got away with it.
My parents loved that Louis found a love match. They didn't need to try and find anyone for him.
Me, on the other hand, I think they would have preferred I stay at home and just simply find a husband one day and maybe get an education in between. But, the day my letter came for Hogwarts was when all their expectations for me flew out of the window.
I was suddenly different. They knew nothing of the wizarding world and what kind of rich, muggle man would love a witch?
So, they let me go, hesitantly as they didn't know what the hell to expect at a magic school, but Fig assured them I was in the best of hands.
Bringing a boy home from magic school was certainly shocking for them, though they did think we were only friends for a long time.
Friends with benefits maybe?
But they didn't react as badly as I thought when they found us asleep on the floor, cuddling. I think they knew we had feelings for each other, but I don't think they knew the extent. I did feel bad for breaking their trust, they thought I'd do the right thing and keep myself pure for my husband. They sent me away with morals, goals and a "good Christian sense" as my mother would say. Well, Christianity went out the window the second I realised I could blow people up with my bare hands and let an attractive boy I wasn't betrothed to teach me illegal curses.
Heck, Sebastian wasn't even my first. It was Garreth. I was tarnished goods for sure. What man would want me now? I just took solace in the fact I also wasn't Sebastian's first. And he lost it to a muggle, Amelia. We were as bad as each other, properly suited I suppose.
The sooner I left the barrage of questioning about Sebastian's intentions and who chaperones at the school, the better.
We got back to Hogwarts in the late afternoon and managed to score some goody bags for study with a quick trip past the kitchens on the way to the Undercroft.
My good elf friends gave us four bags filled with mixed pastries and sweets to get us through.
Sebastian opened the Undercroft door for me when we arrived as I held all the delicious smelling bags. I followed him closely so the door didn't slam in my face and I heard the sounds of abrupt movements and profanities.
"Oh, fucking hell, Ominis! Now I wish I were blind!" Sebastian yelled, quickly turning sideways and bringing a forearm across his eyes.
"Sebastian, I- uh, I didn't think you were back until tomorrow morning!" Ominis' shaky voice called back.
I looked over Sebastian's shoulder and saw Ominis and my best friend, Poppy, scrambling to locate their clothes and make themselves decent which was a tricky job since only one of them had the eye sight to see who's clothes were who's.
"No! No, you idiot! I said Sunday afternoon so we could study! Oh, for fucks sake." Sebastian cried out, turning around and leaving the Undercroft quickly. I tossed two of the bags of food onto a nearby barrel and followed him out, calling behind me to let them know I'd left them behind for them. I suppose they may need sustenance after what they were just doing.
