The end of the year rolled around quickly and I found myself packing the last of my trunk ready to head home for two weeks.
"I can't believe they're letting Sebastian stay with you." Natty said, reclining on her bed.
"Me neither, but I'm not going to question it. I don't think I'll tell them we are dating."
"Lara, you're going to lie?" Natty almost jumped off the bed at me.
"It's not a lie... it's just... not telling the whole truth. Right?"
"No! Wrong!"
"Oh, Natsai. You and your hero complex." I rolled my eyes, as if I didn't have one too.
"Well, regardless, I'll miss you over the break."
"I know. I'll miss you too, but it's only two weeks. Have a great Christmas with Amit!"
I embraced Natty and gave her a small kiss on the cheek before dragging my ridiculously heavy trunk out of the common room.
Sebastian was waiting for me outside the common room with his own trunk, probably half the size of mine. He watched me struggle to drag it out of the Fat Lady portrait.
"You are a witch, you know?" He laughed at me.
I cocked my head, panting to catch my breath.
"Oh, seriously..." he muttered.
With a flick of his wand, my trunk was floating behind me, following me and he stacked his on top of it.
"Shall we?" he asked, extending an arm.
I linked our arms together and we walked through the busy castle, making our way to Hogsmeade station.
It was significantly quieter this year. I didn't bump into many of our classmates, a lot had either stayed on at the school to catch up on studies or had travelled by broom or floo. I would have done the same if we'd headed to Feldcroft, but London was probably a little far.
Sebastian plopped our trunks onto the train and we alighted, finding an empty carriage right at the very back.
"You know, I have never been on the Hogwarts Express." He said, taking a seat on the red chair opposite me.
"Wait, really?"
"Well, yeah. I've lived at Feldcroft my entire magic life. If my parents were alive, I would have taken it. We lived in London."
"You? Lived in London?" I asked, shocked.
"I sure did. I don't remember a whole lot, we moved to Feldcroft when we were eight."
"Well, who knows, maybe we might have crossed paths at some point."
I feel like opening up a little about his childhood was probably good for him. I did like to see how his eyes lit up slightly when we spoke about good memories.
We engaged in idle chit chat as the train pulled out of the station. Sebastian bought me the Fizzing Whizzbees I'd forgotten to buy in Hogsmeade for my brother from the trolley lady and he also sneakily brought us a chocolate frog each.
"Who'd you get?" I asked Sebastian, who had already torn into his and had popped the frog into his mouth whole.
"Uric the Oddball. I've got like, 7 of that one. What about you?" he asked me, words somewhat muffled from the chocolate in his mouth.
"Oh, fucking Ignatia Wildsmith. It's like I can't get away from her!" I groaned, tossing the trading card to the side, it landed on the floor with a light thump.
