Corrupt Gems

This theory is what gems the corrupt gems represent and why they are corrupt.

Centipedetle Mother is Emerald. Emerald is the Stone of Successful Love. In "Monster Buddies" the Centipeetle Mother and Steven become friends.Emerald is a Stone of inspiration and infinite patience, it embodies unity, compassion and unconditional love. Emerald promotes friendship, balance between partners, and is particularly known for providing domestic bliss and loyalty. Emerald is also a stone of great vision and intuition, associated with the eyes and sight hence the stone being located in the Mother's eye.

Puffer is watermelon tourmaline. The gems destroyed Koffi Pizza's sign in the episode "Beach Party" and Steven was extraordinarily guilty about that. The pufferfish comes out and starts wrecking havoc when he feels guilty and the families work together to defeat it thus alleviating the guilt. Watermelon Tourmaline is used to fix relationships by getting rid of guilt.

Worm Monster is Rhodochrosite. The episode "Bubble Buddies" features Steven trapped in a bubble he made with Connie. Connie becomes increasingly frustrated with Steven. When she reaches her highest point of anger with him and is crying about how she us lonely and that no one cares about her but her parents the worm appears and they escape it by ensnaring it in the bridge. They later become best friends. Rhodochrosite is a gem known for making amends between friends and reconciliation. It also helps with inner conflict and bringing relief from ongoing stressful situations.

The Cave Creature is Turquoise. The episode "Arcade Mania" starts with Steven and Pearl arguing over Steven's coat making noise. While they were arguing Steven falls of a high platform but garnet catches him. The creature then suddenly attacks. Turquoise was used as a protection stone. It would protect people from falls. It also removes animosity between friends.

Tardigrade is Rhodonite.In the episode "Love Letters" Garnet does not like Jamie back because she is "in love with herself" (Ruby and Sapphire."Rhodonite is a stone that promotes self-love.

Slinker is Iolite. Amethyst feels excluded and like everyone is against her in the episode "Reformed." The Slinker kept "poofing" her and she kept changing how she is. Iolite settles family dilemmas and is used for balance and getting rid of disorientation.

Big Bird is Acroite. Pearl and Amethyst are very intolerant towards each other in the episode "Big Bird" When they come to an understanding they form Opal to save Steven. When the defeat the Bird it "poofs" into tiny fragments. Acroite is a gem stone that is normally found in several fragmented tiny crystals. It is a stone of understanding and tolerance. The Ice monster is Tanzanite. Tanzanite is the stone of transmutation and the ice monster changed when it lost its arm.

My theory on corrupted gems is that corruption happens when the physical part of the gem does not follow the metaphysical properties. In " Too Many Birthdays" Steven started to age rapidly because he felt old. The corrupted gems must have felt like monsters after the war and became monsters after losing control of their feelings. The actual gem takes control and the physical part is receded inside the gem. The metaphysical gem then carries out the purposes that the actual gem didn't. To support this theory is that every episode with a corrupt gem the gem appears when it has to fix a conflict between the Crystal gems. If this corruption theory is true that that would mean that in " Cat Fingers" and "Reformed" Steven and Amethyst respectively have been very close to being corrupt.
