In the Pilot of Steven universe Steven's gem and Garnet's gems have gold around them. Amethyst had silver around her's and Pearl had bronze. This shows that Pearl's were a servant class and Amethyst was part of a warrior class. What does that mean for Garnet and Steven. They are royalty.
