This is showing that Rose in "Story for Steven" and Rose in "Lion 3: straight to video" are two different Roses. This will stretch over a few chapters so I can explain the pictures better. In the picture above is Rose at night and Steven's shield at night they are around the same color, so Steven's shield in daylight should be the color Rose is in daylight. Notice the Pink tint. Steven's shield in daylight matches the color of Rose Diamond. This shows that Rose is not Pink Diamond but instead Rose Diamond. This would also explain the rose thorns around her shield.
