Her gem is a pentagon and in the temple fusion it makes a star. Just like how is said that the upside down pentagon made a star. This helps prove the star was for the diamonds. That's why Steven has a star on his shirt and his pentagon in the center. That's why Rose has a star and her pentagon in the middle. Garnet was the only one that had a star and it was on her gauntlets. Ruby doesn't have a star on her gloves so that means that the star comes from Sapphire. This helps prove that Sapphire was a diamond.
