Reunited

A couple days later - Katoichi's mansion

Kairo and Muigetsu had just finished with training and were dripping in sweat.

[Katoichi] Keep it up, you're doing a lot better. You're free to go today.

[Kairo] *panting* YES!

Kairo dropped to his knees and started coughing.

[Kairo] *struggling* This is much worse than what we were doing at Yokeitanto. My body feels like it's falling apart.

[Katoichi] You're not done yet, you still have to train more. You're not prepared yet.

[Muigetsu] Thousands of squats, hundreds of sets of pushups, several hundred sit ups, multi mile sprints that are timed, hours of attacking and dodging, THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH?!

[Katoichi] Nope, well, I'll be on my way. If you want to go outside the barrier, tell me first. I don't want anyone detecting energy circulating in your bodies so I'll have to suppress it.

[Kairo] Alright.

Katoichi vanished inside a red pentagram. Kairo and Muigetsu headed inside and sat down on the couch for a second.

[Kairo] *exhaling* I wish it was like this all the time. It feels good to have a break now and then at least.

[Muigetsu] I know. We've been going nonstop for almost two weeks, we still haven't recovered from the fight we had with the training and fight with Yokeitanto.

[Kairo] Oh yeah, about that...I've been meaning to ask you about something.

[Muigetsu] Huh? What is it about?

[Kairo] That move you used against him. Exactly when did you learn how to do that?

[Muigetsu] I don't know how it happened but, I was just training in the plains one day and it just kind of...exploded out I guess.

Flashback - a couple of weeks ago

Muigetsu held his sword to his side and crouched down. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He generated energy and poured it into his blade and concentrated it into his feet. A glow could be seen in his eyes as the aura covered his body. The ground below him cracked and crumbled below his feet as he exploded forward at mach speeds. A trail of aura flowed out of his blade as he launched himself forward, completely shattering his insides.

End of flashback

[Kairo] So when I found you that day and you were injured, it was because of that right?

[Muigetsu] Yeah, I plan on not using that attack again. It causes too much of a strain on my body. It's like my insides are being ruptured, I can feel the pain all the way to my core.

[Kairo] What about using it at a lower level? Like decreasing the amount of koseishi you use?

[Muigetsu] No, it's not that easy. When I use too little or too much on any technique, it falters. I can't do that or it wouldn't be as useful.

[Kairo] It was pretty cool to see I guess. I never would've thought you'd have something like that stored up.

At the time it was around 3 p.m. They both thought back about old times and decided that they were going to go out for a bit.

[Kairo] Hey, how about we go out and do something? Our old school, the village, everything isn't that far from here.

[Muigetsu] You're right, we have the time, man it's been so long!

[Kairo] Let's go tell Katoichi.

They both quickly rushed upstairs to find Katoichi taking a nap in his bed. They quickly turned on the light to wake him up.
