The Rematch VII: Limits

In Muigetsu's mind

Muigetsu punched Kinoshiba in his blank face, but it had no effect. Like a cotton ball being thrown at you. He looked at his hands then back at Kinoshiba.

[Kinoshiba] You know very well that won't work here.

[Muigetsu] Shit!

[Kinoshiba] Look how weak you have grown since then. I should've made sure you were dead before I went about my day.

[Muigetsu] Shut up, piece of shit.

[Kinoshiba] Call me that all you want, but look at your current position.

[Muigetsu] Can't you hear me?!

[Kinoshiba] I said look.

[Muigetsu] Look at what?

[Kinoshiba] Behind you, in that void.

Muigetsu turned around and looked into the void. A sighting began to manifest out of the void and Muigetsu could see himself in it, but not as he expected. He saw himself lying on the ground and unconscious, Kotaro eyeing him down.

In Kairo's mind

Kairo too had been looking down into the void to realize his current position in the fight. Unconscious, and helpless, unable to do anything.

[Kairo] *shocked* What the?

[Kyutaro] That's you, right there.

[Kairo] I-I have to get back out there! Now!

In Muigetsu's mind

[Kinoshiba] And do what? Get your ass kicked once again? If you go back out there now, you'll just end up dead.

[Muigetsu] *stressed* Then what do you suggest I'd do? Since you know it all?

Kinoshiba didn't utter a word.

[Muigetsu] Why are you here anyway? Speaking to me all of a sudden? This isn't even real.

Kinoshiba didn't utter a word.

[Muigetsu] Now you're just gonna ignore me? I need to wake the hell up and get out of here!

In Kairo's mind

[Kairo] I don't even know what I'm doing here! I should be fighting! I need to wake up!

[Kyutaro] Go ahead...and get yourself killed.

Muigetsu's mind

[Muigetsu] Oh so now you speak? Just to tell me the same shit. If you're not telling me what I should do, then tell me how I can get out of here. Or just stand there and be a worthless piece of shit. You're only a "pigment of my imagination" or some shit anyway. If it was really you, I would've been dead already like the last time you appeared in my mind.

[Kinoshiba] What a fool. This entire time since the monkai attack you've been an idiot. You have great strength, and you'll only get stronger from now on, yet, you have the weakest mind. Once you're "done", you're done.

[Muigetsu] And what of it? My mind isn't weak.

[Kinoshiba] Keep on telling yourself that. Multiple times this fight you've faltered due to your train of thought. You're worrying about the wrong things. "Am I dead? Can I survive? Can I win?" That doesn't help you think. You give up, yet still fight, I commend you, but you're still weak. And most of all, that one.

Suddenly, a person came running through the forest and made it out, halting after he made it out free. It turned out to be Kairo, in the same state Muigetsu was in.
