I looked out to the field, staring down the flipped car. I could see him. Him and I, sitting on it. Sharing cigarettes, having real talks. How could he? How could he just leave me?
I felt selfish, like I was only thinking of myself. I had a battle within, knowing I would leave with my siblings too, but Merle? How could he be Daryls brother? He was so cold hearted and Daryl was.. He was the best.
I felt alone, I didn't know why his departure hurt me so bad, why it hung so heavy on me. I missed my friend... or did I miss the fact I missed the opportunity to say what I needed to him?
What did I need to say? I felt so many unspoken words. Why did I care about him so much? I felt so hurt as if he had died.
"Hey." Maggie stood beside me, staring out at the yard too.
"Hey."
"You doing okay?"
"No."
"Me neither.... I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"What happened at Woodsbury... Daryl leaving."
"I'll be okay."
"You love him."
I looked over at Carol and Axel. Everyone had seemed to move on, to forget about him, except Carol, but even she was smiling now. It made me angry, it shouldn't have, but it did.
"I did.. I do. Not even like that... he just... he was there."
"I know." She intertwined her fingers with mine.
Boom!
Axel dropped. I yanked Maggie to the ground out of reflex. Beyond the gates was trucks, and people, a lot of them.
"I need to speak to Rick!" The Governer called out. Him. I grabbed my gun, cocking it. Maggie pushed it down.
"No!" She whispered. I looked over at Carol, who was already staring at me, scared.
"You need to make a run for inside," I instructed, keeping my eyes on him.
"What?"
"Get inside, Maggie. Please. I'll cover you."
She stared deep into my eyes before nodding, taking a deep breath before bolting to the door. A few shots flew at her, Carol following behind her. The door slammed shut behind them. Now it was just me and the Axels corpse.
"I see you Delilah! I need to speak to Rick!" The Governor's voice boomed. How dare he say my name? Address me?
"Go fuck yourself!" I screamed back. If I had a sniper. If I had a scope... I could've killed him then.
"Just let me talk to Rick, hand Michonne over... and everything will go smooth!"
I stayed still, laying with my stomach to the ground.
I watched him walk around a truck, talking to someone before a familiar face appeared. The prison door creaked open. Rick put his finger to his lips as if to hush me.
"Delilah!" Kays vouce made me instantly drop my head to the pavement, tears took over me, "Just show him!"
I just sobbed, my tears created a puddle on the concrete.
"Fine! I tried to warn you!"
A crash echoed through the air as a truck backed up over the fences. I watched as the men threw the doors open, tens of walkers spilling out from it.
"Oh god..."
Gun fire began filling the air. I hadn't even noticed how many people had began firing. I crawled toward the fences, trying to aim my gun at the Governers head.
Bang!
I missed. He watched the bullet fly past his head before turning his eye to me. We stared right in each others faces. He shot at me, hitting my stomach. Oh god. It was so hot. I couldn't even feel the pain. Just the running of my blood. My sister. She was out there.
"Rick!" I called out to him as he and Glenn shot through the fence. He already knew."
      "Go!"
I bolted towards the fence, trying to stay low, keeping my hand over my bullet wound.
I dodged through the walkers, hitting the opening. I bolted past, as discreetly as I could, clinging to the fence.
"Kay!" I screamed out. She popped out from behind the truck, her face tear stained. She motioned for someone to follow her.
Two familiar faces followed behind her.
     "Oh my god..."
       David. Jake.

I sat up, rubbing my eyes. Jake, my sister, David, and Maggie. They all stared at me. My stomacg ached.
     "Hey." Kay crouched beside me.
I scanned all the faces, tears immediately pouring from my eyes. Was I hallucinating? I had really lost my mind.
"Oh my god." I pulled her and my little brother into a tight hug, trying to ignore the pain from my stomach.
I pulled back, examining their faces. Jake looked older. He didn't look like a little boy. I thought I was really losing it. Was I in a coma?
"Del..." Maggie said softly. My eyes met with Davids but we said nothing.
      "Lori... T-dog..."
"Please just... don't tell me... not now."
She nodded, giving me a kiss on my head before leaving. I grabbed my sibling again, holding them tight. I didn't care to sob. I cried loudly.
"How?" I pulled away, looking at them.
"David... He found me in the woods by our house.. we found Woodsbury."
"And then Michonne found me and Andrea, brought us there."
I couldn't take it. I thought my heart may explode. This was too good to be real. It wasn't real.
      "Am I in a coma?"
       Jake laughed.
"No. No coma," Kay smiled. My eyes met with Davids. He didn't look as naive as he did before.
      "Thank you."
