The lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit
Psalm 34:18

"Tell me about god, Kay." Negan looked at her through his eyebrows. Del looked over at her. She shook, she trembled with fear.

"W-what?"

"Tell me about god. Why is it all you were raised with Jesus and only you still believe? Hm? Tell me why."

"Don't play his game-" Del started.

"I didn't talk to you, did I, Red? I can just have you killed right now, at least i'm giving you each a choice on who it is. Now, tell me, why?"

"I'm alive, aren't I?" Kay refused to look at them. Del knew. Del knew what it would be, what it could come down to. Kay was a coward. She would kill her or Jake before she allowed herself to be put into danger.

"But that is thanks to your sister, isn't it? I mean shit, she saved you... a lot!" Negan laughed, "I mean do you really think you would have made it this far? Either of you? You and that kid, no. You two aren't made for this world, but you are, aren't you, Red?"

"Fuck you." Del spat at his feet. He grinned widely, tilting his head.

"What about you kid? Hm? I mean you have got some fucking balls. Living out there alone at the start? Only a kid? You think you're tough?" He stepped towards Jake. Jake looked to Del and Kay, then to Negan.

"No."

"Bullshit! You know you're tough. You just keep it secret, but your sisters, no. They are always in competition in who deserves to be alive most. No matter what they say, they know."

Del and Kay exchanged glances. Dels jaw clenched, her breath shakey.

"So, who do you think deserves to live more?" Negan questioned. Jake just stared at him, Del could see it, all his innocence, his sweetness, washed away. Pure hate in his eyes. He was broken, he was a broken kid. He said nothing.

"I asked you a question!" Negans voice boomed as he stepped nose to nose with Jake. Del lunged in front of his, pushing Negan back roughly.

"That's enough! Okay?! That's enough..."

"I was talking to your brother! Or should we bring Daryl in and have him killed in front of all of you?! Hm! That sounds fun! How about you choose one of you, or Dixon?!" There was pure enjoyment in his eyes, Del snapped her gaze to Kay, seeing her pick her head up. She begged with her eyes for Kay to say nothing, but she saw Kay clench the knife in her hands.

"No. We aren't doing that." Del spoke before Kay could.

"You think his life is more valuable than your siblings?"

"I won't feed into your bullshit."

"Not making a decision is saying enough, Red."

Dell grabbed Jakes hand into hers, looking to Kay, reaching her hand out. Her sister. Her big sister. Tears streamed down her cheeks, she saw the brokeness in Kays face.

"Please dont make me repeat myself!"

Del felt her heart pounding, staring down at her shaking hand, her hand reaching out for Kay. She waited for Kay to lunge towards her. Her eyes met with her sisters.

"I'm sorry. I love you so much." Kays shaky voice echoed through the room. It all happened so slow. Del pushed Jake behind her, embracing for impact, for the end of her life, but it never came. She watched as her sister brought the blade to her own neck. Del screamed out, jumping forward, but it was too late. Blood sprayed across her face as Kay dropped to the floor. Del dropped to her knees, her hand flying over the wound. It was so slow. So painfully slow. She pressed against the slash on her sister's throat, feeling the blood pulse against her palm.

"NO! NO!" Del screamed, holding her sister's head in her hands. Kay looked up at her, reaching her hand up to Dels face, and for a second, just a second, Kay smiled.

"You... deserve... to see... tomorrow." Kay choked through her blood, it rolling down from the corner of her mouth. It was warm, her blood, and her body was limp, and her sister was dead.
