3 months later

"I have a bad feeling." Del pursed her lips, staring at herself in the mirror as Daryl laced up his boots.

"Glenn and Rick'll be with me."

She turned to him, resting her hands on her stomach. She hated seeing him get ready to leave, it had happened a million times but it never got any easier.

"Something isn't right, Daryl."

"Ya always feel that way, sweet-pea." He stood, giving her a kiss on the forehead.

She looked down at her feet, knowing he was right.

"I know."

"Ya got Jake here."

She rolled her eyes, following him downstairs.

"He ditches me any chance that kid gets."

"Stop. You know that boy loves ya." He grabbed his bag.

"I know but... I just... There's something wrong."

He stepped towards her, grabbing her hands in his.

"Del, I have to go. You know we-"

"We need to get stuff for the baby. I know. Doesn't make it any easier."

"You just stay here, paint the baby room. Everything will be okay."

She tucked her lips, biting the inside of her cheek as an unsettling feeling swelled in her chest.

"Okay."

...

Del stepped back, wiping the paint on her hands onto her jeans, staring at the pale yellow walls.

"Looks nice." Carl nodded, standing next to Jake as he carefully painted around the doorframe.

"I hate yellow. Looks bad with red hair,"
Jake said absentmindedly.

Del looked at him with a dirty look, Carl doing the same.

"What? It's true!" Jake laughed. Del grabbed her brush, flinging paint at him as they laughed.

Del began staring out the window as the boys continued painting. The sun had began to cast a golden glow from sunset.

"You think they'll be back before sundown?" Carl questioned.

"Doubt it. The closest baby stuff is at least twenty miles out."

"I hate when they spend the night out there."

"Me too kid." Paint dripped on the floor beside Dels feet. She stared down at it, watching it collect a yellow puddle on the floor. Then it came, the sharp pain through her back, and the wet feeling down her jeans.

"Did you just piss yourself?" Jake stepped back. Del felt her breath become labored, her heart in her ears.

"Oh... Okay... Let's get you to Denise." Carl quickly came to her side. She stared down at the puddle at her feet.

"What's going on?" Jake followed behind them as. Carl guided her down the stairs. She could barely think, only one thought.

No. Not now. Not without him. Please.

"Go get Maggie and Michonne." Del directed her brother. He looked panicked, but quickly bolted out the front door.

"Easy." Carl helped her out onto the porch.

"I... I can't..." She shook her head.

"Everything okay?" Carol called from the street as Del hobbled down the porch stairs.
