Glick's P.O.VI watch as Tessa emerges from the water, my eyes widen. Her body filled with blue bottles my first reaction is to run over to her and help. I know a lot about Blue Bottle stings, South African beaches are always filled with them.
"Let me help." I start to pick of the tentacles and tossing them as I do. My fingers sting, but I much rather take a some pain instead of her.
I hear Reidy in the background talking to the man that she pulled out of the water. Then radioing in about Tessa.
She groans in pain her legs shaking, after a couple of minutes all the tentacles are off. "There, they are all off you. Come sit in the buggy." I watch as tears fill her eyes.
I'm impressed with how strong she is.
"God it burns." She cry's out. "Bloody hell."
Her legs collapsed under her and I steady her, not sure if I should pick her up and bring her over to the buggy or not.
"Is it alright if I carry you to the buggy?" I ask
She nods closing her eyes in pain, she takes deep breaths.
"Whip and Quinn are on their way." Reidy tells us.
I lay her in the passenger seat, "You think you can wait?" I ask,
She nods, "Yeah, I can wait."
Tessa's P.O.V
Glick lifts me like a five pound weight and carry's me over to the buggy.
Reidy tells us that Whip and Quinn are on their way.
"You think you can wait?" He asks, concern paints his face.
I nod, "Yeah, I can wait."
I bite my lip and close my eyes, wishing for the pain to go away.
"Hang in there Tess they are almost here." Riedy tells me, I nod.
Time feels as if it's the speed of a tortoise, my eyes stay closed wincing and squirming in pain.
I didn't even realize anyone was talking to me, I feel a hand on my arm shaking me lightly.
"Tessa, open your eyes." I hear Quinn's voice fill my ears.
I open my eyes suddenly not realizing I had lost consciousness for a moment.
"Keep them open for me." He tells me, taking a hold of my arm helping me out of the Rhino and into the back of their buggy.
Quinn puts an oxy mask on me. I didn't think I needed it, but he is a full time paramedic and part time Lifegaurd, he knows what's best.
He holds me still as the buggy starts to move.
Once to the tower I watch as Harrison runs down the steps, "Tess are you alright!"
I wince in pain the burning feeling worse as is spreads through my body, "Not really."
He doesn't waste a minute, and puts his arm under mine. Whip helps me on the other side as I go up the steps.
"Permission to bring her to the locker room?" Harrison asks the two senior lifeguards.
They nod, "I'll come with you." Quinn says helping Harrison bring me to the locker room to shower in hot water, my legs feeling like jelly.
They bring me into the men's not wanting to alert anyone in the women's. Not that anyone comes in these lockers, it really only for the lifeguards.
Harrison turns the water on switching it to hot right away.
Soon I see the steam accumulate in the air, i run my hand under it feeling if it's as hot as I can stand.
They both lay me on the floor of the shower, "Put your head between your knees." Quinn tells me
I slowly do as what's told.
The heat of the shower washes over the welts on my skin.
After five minutes in the shower the pain still seers my skin.
"I'm not feeling any better." I seethe the words through my teeth.
"Has it gotten better at all?" Harrison asks, worry fills the once happy face.
"A little bit, but hardly." I groan, I start to cradle myself rocking back and forth.
"Any shortness of breath?" Quinn questions
"Kinda hard to breathe when all I feel is pain." I resort. "But I don't think I need any oxy." I tell him trying to stay strong.
"Alright let's bring her back to the tower." Quinn tells Harrison who nods and helps me up off the floor.
"I think I can walk." I tell them,
"Just in case I'll keep an arm under yours okay?" Harrison says, I nod in agreement.
After what feels like a 2 hour walk we make it inside the tower, Harrison and Quinn help me onto the medical bed.
"I'm quite concerned." Quinn starts, "should I call an ambulance?" He asks me
"No I think I'll be fine, it will just take a while to go away...."
"At least let me put an oxy mask on you." Harrison tells me, not knowing how else to help.
"Okay."
Harrison puts the oxy mask over my face on my mouth, bending the metal piece on top to keep it from falling.
"Are you okay?" Jake asks from his chair
"Surviving." It sucks that I can't just close my eyes and take a nap to recover.
My body stings and feels itchy the same time, "I'll put some Antiseptic spray on it." Harrison says grabbing it from the shelf.
He sprays it over my body, it seems to help a little bit with the stinging and itching.
But barely, time will just have to tell.
