Chapter Fifty

I gulp as he looks at me and smiles hopefully not knowing who I am.

I give a polite smile.

He continues to walk towards me I feel a lump in my throat.

"Hey beautiful." He winks smiling.

"Hi." I say quietly continuing my work out.

"You from around here?" He asks getting a little close, I stop peddling ready to book it.

I feel shivers go down my spine.

"Oi! Back off mate." Jake shouts, stepping between me and him putting a hand on his chest lightly pushing him away while puffing his chest out.

My hands tremble a bit.

Hayden puts his hands up in defeat. I breathe a shaky breath. He walks away.

Jake watches him as he walks making sure he actually leaves.

He turns to me, "You alright?" I nod my head, hands shaking a bit he holds my hands.

"That's Hayden...the one who you know...." I go closer to his ear, "Raped Tess." I whisper. "He's her ex..."

I watch as his ear move back and he looks around the Gym. I take his arm, "Don't Jake. He's dangerous." I tell him snaking my arms around his.

"Well it seems he's gone to the back. He shouldn't bother us anymore. Did he recognize you?"

I shake my head, "I don't think he did I'm pretty sure Tessa didn't show him a picture of me. Plus he was chatting me up."

"Well I'm glad he didn't hurt you." Jake says smiling rubbing his thumb on my cheek.

I give him a small smile. "Well I got you here to protect me." I beam.

He gives a little chuckle, "I wish I was every hour of the day but I'm not always." Jake tells me tucking a stray hair behind my ear.

I blush at his touch.

"Would like to leave?" He asks

"Hell nah. We gotta finish our workout."

He smiles, "Atta girl." He makes my head move by lightly hitting my chin with his knuckle.

I smile, and he winks.

I sit on the bike properly and start the exercise again.

I pant as I finish my 30 minute work out on the soozer.

I wipe my face and neck with one of the towels that are out to use.

I look at my phone for the time and Jake comes over.

"I got work in a couple of minutes. You can stay here if ya like. Maybe go for a swim on Bondi Beach?"

"I think I'm gonna go for a swim." I smile

"Well if you want to go to the gym again after your swim just stop by the tower and I'll be there."

"Okay."

"Alright. I gotta get going," he pecks me on the lips, "Love you."

"Love you too." I smile.

He returns it as he leaves the gym. I head to the change rooms to change in my while bikini I brought.

I put a cover on and head to Bondi which is straight across form the gym.

Looking both ways before I cross at the road by the tower, I get on the sidewalk and go down the steps onto the sand.

I drop my stuff by the tower, taking off my cover up, I head to north end.

"Hey Olivia." I hear Maxi's vioce I turn to look at the buggie.

"Hey."

"Nice singing last night." Maxi says sincerely. Jesse nods from beside him.

I give him a smile, "Thanks Maxi."

Once in I feel the cool water hit my skin I dunk under feeling it put out my burning face.

I take my head out sighing feeling refreshed.

I quickly get out not liking how many people are in the water. I squeeze my way between people.

"How can you see anyone who needs help with all these people?" I ask Maxi and Jess.

"Sometimes we have to stand in the back to see." Maxi says

"Even you? Wow, what your like six foot."

"Eh a little taller but yeah." Maxi shrugs.

I give him a smile I go to walk away but Maxi stops me, "So you and Jake are back together aye?"

I nod, "Yup."

"That was quick." Jesse says

"Well just wanted to be on good terms before I left." I smile

"It's always good to be on good terms." Maxi says, "Well you have a good rest of your day." He says smiling

"You too." I smile before marching through the hot sand.

I rinse off in the shower the cold water hitting my skin. I sigh the cold water better the temperature of the sea water.

I rinse my face.

I feel a hand on my shoulder, I jump turning around quickly.

"Well shit didn't mean to scare you." Tessa says

"I can see the alinement with you and Jake." I laugh, "You guys both say the same thing when you scare someone."

"We do?...Huh."

"Any whoz What you up to?" I ask

"Well I got your text and I thought you like to have someone to hag out with at the Gym but I thought to look here first." She smiles

I beam, "Awesome!" My face falls a bit, "Tess, I saw Hayden at the gym." I tell her recalling that moment.

"What!" She squeaks

"He was hitting on me and Jake saved me and then he walked away and disappeared! I don't know where he went but I think he went in the back."

"Oh my god. Well good thing Jake was there." She says eyes wide.

"No kidding!" I breathe. "I just thought I should let you know. Just so your more wary of him being here."

"Thanks man." She breathes running her fingers through her hair.

"I didn't smell any alcohol on him. I think he's finally getting sober or he wouldn't have walked away from Jake."

"Well he doesn't have much money so he's gonna have to be sober." Tessa states

"Well he does have a gym membership..."

"Or he could've just payed for the day."

"A guy with that many muscles pfffft that's probably the first thing he would get."

"You got a point." She nods

"Do you still want to go to the gym?" I ask

"Hell yeah. I need to burn off some of this fat."

I laugh, "You are not fat."

"Am so."

I snicker, "Well I gotta go and get Jake's membership." I put my arm out, "Shall we?"

"We shall." She smiles linking her arm with mine.
