Chapter Seventeen

I wake up to the bright ass sun light that peeks through the curtains burning my eyeballs and what feels like my brain.

I groan turning away from the light to find Harrison in bed with me. We didn't..I look under the sheets and my underwear and bra are still on I sigh a breath of relief. Cause when we do, do it I want to remember it and it not being out of my drunken actions.

I lift to see if he's just in his boxers but he's wearing his swim shorts.

"Dang it." I whisper.

My alarm goes off. "Oh god that's loud." I cover my ears and quickly get up and run over to my phone which is on the dresser and shut it off.

I grab a large shirt to cover my body

My head pounds. "Ugh. I walk into the kitchen and take an Aspirin then drink lots of water. I take out a chocolate covered granola bar and eat it to help bring my blood sugars up.

I sigh still really tired but I need to go to work.

I got to the bathroom then come back out taking the door that enters the kitchen rather then my room.

I grab a pillow from the couch and walk back into my room and throw it at Harrison, "Hey sleeping beauty it's work time." I tell him then I go back into the kitchen and grab some cereal too hungover to make anything then two bowl and two spoons then grab the magically delicious and the milk.

I pour the Lucky Charms into the bowl and pour the milk.

Harrison comes out from the bathroom his hair a sexy mess.

"Where just gonna have some cereal I'm to hungover to make anything..."

"Well if I known that you wouldn't make breakfast I would've never let you order that drink." Harrison jokes

I laugh. "Ow don't make me laugh." I tell him rubbing my temples.

He only laughs a little harder.

After we eat we make our way to Bondi.

Me and Harrison split as he's with Jake in South Corner today and like usual I'm in the tower.

"I miss doing rescues." I tell Harries as I watch the other lifeguards doing Rescues through the binoculars.

"You'll get back out there soon enough." He tells me.

I sigh sadly that day not being today or in 5 days.

"It's good that your not working yourself too hard or the recovery time will take longer."

"Well having a couple drinks last night is probably not the brightest idea but I did." I tell him

"Yeah not the best idea you've had." He states

"Yeah, yeah I know."

Once the day is over I make some calls for a burial for my father.

I sigh hanging up the phone and plopping into the couch.

My phone rings I pick it up not really looking who it is.

"Hey Tess." Harrison greets

"Oh hey Harrison what's up?"

"So. Last night you kinda paid for dinner when you weren't supposed to so I was wondering if you would like to go out for dinner again but this time I'm paying."

I laugh, "Well I can't say that I wasn't myself when I did that. I usually do and sure sounds great. When do you have this planned?" I ask

"Well what about next week? I have Friday off."

"You do? Same!"

"Perfect!"

"Is it going to be the same place or is it a new one?" I ask

"New and it's a surprise."

"Ou. Well I trust that it's going to be a good one, cause the last one was." I smile to myself

He chuckles, "Well I'm glad you think so."

"Oh by the way I didn't catch you after work. How was your day?"

"It was active definitely with all the rescues we had to do."

"Yeah it looked pretty intense over there."

"What about you?"

"Well same old. Just in the watchtower watchin the water. I can't wait to do rescues again in a few days which is Thursday."

"I bet."

"Hopefully I'm paired up with you." I beam knowing he can't see my smile.

"Same, fingers crossed."

"Well I guess we will some day but seeming how your a Trainee they probably want you with the more experienced Lifeguards. I'm just a newbie Lifeguard."

"True."

A ding rings on my phone I look at it and it's my best friend from England, Olivia Owens.

I put the phone back to my ear, "My Friend from England just texted me. I haven't heard her in a while."

"Oh you can go text her I have to do a couple things anyways."

"Sorry Harrison."

He chuckles, "Don't be you haven't talked to her in a while."

"Thanks Harrison."

"See ya at work."

"Yup see ya." I hang up the phone and open Olivia'a message.

Girl what's up I haven't texted you in a while I didn't want to bother you knowing that being a fully fledged Lifeguard is busy work 🥵 🏊‍♀️ 🥇🏖

Well considering I'm staying with you at your apartment and not have to spend a fortune on a hotel. Four weeks.
