Chapter Forty Two

After at least half an hour later I finally got the hang of the whole balance thing but not so much steering.

"Olivia watch out!" Jake has yelled to me as a surfer was right in front of me. I squeak with fear and jump off my board. Buuuut. My board kinda swept the guy off his feet and he crushed into the water too.

I resurfaced, "Sorry." I tell him.

"What the hell mate." He told me and got on his board and paddled far from me.

Now here I lie on my back on the borrowed board.

"This is useless!" I cry out with frustration. "I can't steer! I almost beheaded that dude a while ago. A seagull decided to fly right in front of me. Bet he's after me now for almost hitting him." I sulk the feeling the cool water soak my heated blond hair as I look up to the blue sky.

Jake chuckles. "You'll get better." He tells me.

"By what? Running into a seagull next time?" I huff

Jake only snickers, "Your cute when your frustrated."

I turn my head to look at him feeling my other part of my hair cooling from the water. I give him a look before turning my head to continue to look in up at the clear sky.

"Oh come on Olivia. Don't be salty. If your attitude were anymore salty you would turn this ocean to a Dead Sea."

His comment only makes me smile, I giggle a bit.

"Come on let's get some lunch." Jake stays I get of my board then lay on it and start paddling with Jake.

I take a sip of my water after finishing my burger.

"These burgers are not half as good as your homemade ones." I tell Jake.

"I'm flattered." He smiles.

The waiter comes by with the check. Jake takes it, but I snatch it.

He takes it back, "Oi!" He pays for the meal and I roll my eyes. "You know it's the least I could do. You taught me how to surf." He says as the waiter walks away.

"And still am." He states, "This day is about you learning how to surf so I pay for your food."

I roll my eyes again, crossing my arms, "Ugh why do you have to be so cute!" I tell him grabbing his face and giving him a smooch. "How can I stay mad at you."

"You can't." He smiles

I shake my head while smiling.

After sitting on the beach for awhile we head in the water for some more surfing lessons.

I get on my board riding a wave I push on my back foot and lean. I finally get it to turn my way. "I got it!" I shout

"Awesome job babe!" Jake shouts.

I give a big smile and keep turning.

I jump off at the end.

Jake walks over to me. "You did it!" He shouts excitingly.
