Chapter Fifty Two

My last few days pass faster then ever.

On my last day Tessa had brought me to the bar for Karaoke night wanting a late night together.

Jake tags a long to record it.

We sang Betty And The Jets a few other Lifeguards were there out for a drink which made me a bit nervous but I kept my composure singing loud and proud.

But now, in the morning I'm on my way to the airport in the passenger seat of Tessa's Jeep.

I sigh feeling a bit sad even though I'm going to move here in however long it takes to get things goin for it.

She parks and I look up to see the Airport that used to have an exciting mood form me when arriving from London. But now sadness replaces it as it's now the way for me to go home.

"Want me to walk to the lobby?" My best friend asks

"Yeah.." I say my mood gloomy.

We get out the Jeep and I get my hug suitcase from the back and a new smaller suitcase I had to buy for the extra things I bought.

Tessa takes the smaller one and popping the handle up while I grab my big ass one.

I put it on the cement with a huff doing the same with the handle.

Tessa closes the trunk and we make our way to the lobby letting the suitcases roll behind us.

"I'm going to miss you."

"I'm going to miss you too..."

"So what about Jake? You guys gonna do long distance or...?" She asks

I sigh, "We're going to try but I don't think it'll work.." I sigh again.

"Well I hope you guys work everything out. This is a big change. But if you call me crying because he broke your heart I'm going to—" She roars

"Woah, woah. Down girl." I chuckle as we enter the Airport Lobby.

"Sorry.." She shyly smiles

I laugh, "Don't be your just being the best, best friend I could ever ask for." I smile, she returns it.

She stops, "Well.....this is as far as I go." She says giving me a half smile. She sighs, "I am really going to miss you Ollie." She says a tear running down her face.

"Aw don't cry Tess!" I give her a hug, "I'm going to miss you too."

"Text me when your back home okay?" She says breaking the hug

"I will." I smile giving her another hug before heading to my flight.

I look back at Tessa as I walk away she smiles gives me a wave smiling I return it.

Tessa's P.O.V

I sigh sadly as I walk back to my car. I get in my Jeep and had back to my apartment.

I sigh as I plop on the couch.

My leave of absence is finally comes to an end after a few day of sulking that I don't have my best friend by my side.

I got up happier then usual maybe it's because I'm going back to work? Probably, being a lifeguard is the best job and thing that has ever happened to me.

Ryan is one of the new Trainees he is Maxi's cousin which is kind neat.

Weeks pass of happiness once returned to me now only a week away from the physical test.

Here I am now putting my hair up in a braid to keep it out on my face.

I eat breakfast with Harrison like usual and head to the beach to work.

Harrison and I split up him working over in North end and me going South.

I see Matt Dee. "Hey Matt. Ready to patrol South end?" I ask happily Matt is really caring and nice as well as Reidy, Harries and all the others but he has a certain charm characteristic to him.

"Sure am."

I halfway through the day it starts to Hail.

Not just nice small pieces no. HUGE golf ball sized. I never seen this sized of hail all the years I've been here. And especially not in the hot weathers of the summer to be.

Everyone runs off the beach.

"Holy matrimony! Look at the size of the hail!" I tell Matt picking up a piece that jumped into the buggy.

"That is quite a big pice of ice."

"Yeah want some ice with your water?" I laugh.

Matt only laughs.

I continue to look out to the water and see surfers holding there surf boards over their and swimmers heads.

"Now what happens when the hail hits there fingers?" I ask

"Then the board is just going to hit there head a bit."

"Well let's hope no one gets hurt cause I really don't want to get hit in the head with a super speed golf sized hail."

"Same." Matt says

A piece of hail hits my shoulder, "Ow! Bloody hell.." I rub my shoulder pouting.

"You alright?" He asks

I laugh it off, "Yeah." See that's what I like about Matt Dee he doesn't laugh at you if you get hurt then help.

We watch as the surfers run out of the water with their boards over their heads.

"If we need to rescue someone we should've brought helmets."

Matt Dee laughs, "No kidding hey."

"So I heard you going to Indonesia tomorrow." I smile

"Oh yeah I'm so stoked for it."

"I bet you are," I beam, "So how many days are ya out for?"

"A week."

"Nice!" I nudge him.

As fast as the dark clouds came in the faster they left. The sun beats down melting the blocks of ice.

Well...that was...rare.

In about 20 minutes not even people start to fill the beach again.

"Here we go." I tell him.

"Get ready for nothing to happen." He chuckles

I laugh knowing that wherever he goes hardly anything happens.

"I feel back for Harrison. He's with the black cloud."

"Uh oh." He snickers. "Well the more brownie points he gets."

"True, true." I smile watching the water.

It was a loooong while before I had to rescue someone. That meaning only one Matt Dees luck coming in handy.

The day passes more calmly then ever.

As you can tell the time line is a bit different Harrison becomes a Trainee after the physical test and Ryan also comes after the test as well. But. Timeline is different a bit for this😅
