Chapter Six

Tessa's P.O.V

I get in Harrison's room and slip under the covers of the made bed.

I breathe in and sigh knowing that I don't have to worry about Hayden....For now.

I turn to my side and snuggle into the sheets. I breathe in the sent of Harrison musky cologne and his fresh sent of his head and shoulders soap. Hey don't judge how I know that. I just know the sent of Head and Shoulders soap okay?

I sigh as my eyes drift shut.

My alarm goes off startling me awake.

I groan as I realize I forgot to turn off my 4:00 AM alarm I had set last night.

I get out of bed and stumble to my bag.

I unzip it and retrieve my phone. I turn the alarm off and turn on the later one.

I go over to the door and open it slightly. The faint rays of the rising sun fill the room dimly.

I see Harrison still sound asleep and hear no ruffling from Maxi's room, good I didn't awake any them. I close the door silently and turn around my legs tangle around the straps of my bag I go to take a step and the straps tighten making me hit the floor with a loud thump.

"Ow! You bloody bag!" I mutter, "Why am I so frickin clumsy!"

I hear movement outside the door, "Tess are you alright?" I hear Harrison's groggy voice making his voice sound lower and slightly sexy. Okay a little more then slightly.

"Yeah." I whisper

He moans sleepily, "Good.." and shuffles around a bit more.

I untangle myself as I curse at my bag.

I sigh annoyingly as I get up, I lay in bed again and soon my eyes slowly shut and my mind drifts.

Harrison's P.O.V

I wake up to the smell of, "Pancakes?" We don't have any pancake mix. I open one eye and look over at the kitchen.

I was surprised it wasn't Maxi. Tessa stands in front of the oven flipping the pancakes.

I rub my eyes and open them standing up.

"Oh Harrison your awake. I hope you don't mind. I looked up a recipe and wipped it up for you guys."

"I don't mind at all." I smile as I walk over and sit on the stool in front of the counter.

I look at my watch; 4:51.

Maxi gets out the room, "It's a miracle Harrison is cooking!" Maxi joke's his hair wet from a shower. "Took you long enough to wake up." Maxi tells me going into the kitchen to set the table.

I stand from my seat and help, "What can I say the floor is just that comfortable."

Tessa giggles, "Well I'm glad you slept well. I feel bad for taking your bed."

"Nah it's cool."

When we got to the Tower we were told our positions.

"I'm with Deano on the south end." Tessa told me

"I'm with Harries in North."

"Well I guess I'll see you when I do." She smiles

Tessa's P.O.V

Hours later the beach starts to fill up as today is hot as hell.

I still haven't got used to this hot weather.

"I'll take this one Deano." I tell him as I hop out the buggie taking my shirt off.

I grab the board and head in.

I paddle to the man who's been taken by the rip. He wouldn't be in this situation if he would just go between the flags like we told him. But he didn't listen only staying in the water, and soon enough I'm going to get him.

"Get on the board mate." I tell him, "Belly down facing forward." I tell him he nods out of breath.

I see another person in the water, she screams for help. I paddle farther out and get to the destresed swimmer. She clings to the board and the man jumps off not wanting to trip the board over as it rocks.

I wave my arm to Deano signalling that I need backup out of breath.

He quickly picks up the radio then takes his shirt off going into the water.

I see a surfer coming my way, "Oi! Watch out I'm doing a Rescue here!" I shout my British accent hard and strong.

He doesn't seem to hear me. I put my back forwards him protecting the girl that just tired to sit up on the board panicking.

I feel the board hit my shoulder a searing paint runs down my arm and the wind knocked out of me as I fall into the water.

I try to swim using both my arms but it hurts to move it. The surfer dislocated it.

The rip pulls me making my legs useless. I try to use my working arm to get to the board but the rip is too strong. I have no idea where to swim to get out the rip all I can see is the light of the surface.

My lungs burn and my vision flashes red. I try to stay calm but it doesn't work. This isn't how I should say goodbye to dad he doesn't deserve to have his heart broken by another incident.

I try and try to swim to the surface. I'm not going to make it....

My vision starts to darken, I don't want to die...
