Imagine #50- Birthday Surprises

Gigi's P.O.V.

Matt and I were at a really fancy restaurant for dinner tonight. It was my 20th birthday and he wanted to take me out for a special night.

He told me to wear a nice dress and so I got a new one from the store. It was a dark purple dress. It was tight all the way down, knee length, and had rhinestones. There were three-quarter length sleeves that were see-through. I really loved it and when I saw it, I felt in love. I curled my blonde hair and it rest perfectly on my shoulders.

It really framed my face and I did light make-up because Matt liked that look better. He always said I did not need any make-up, let alone anything heavy.

I put on a short pair of heels and grabbed my phone. I walked down the stairs and took my clutch of the bookshelf near by. I sat on the couch and waited for Matt to text me or come to the door.

There was 3 knocks at the door and a doorbell ring. My mom ran to the door in her apron and opened it partially.

"Hi Matt! Wow you look very handsome. I'll get Gigi for you." She said before calling up the stairs.

I got up from the couch and said to my mother "I'm over here Mom."

"Gigi you look so pretty! Wow, now you two have fun." My mom replied, smiled, and kissed my cheek.

I walked over to the door and looked Matt up and down.

"Gigi you stunning. I don't think I've ever been so mesmerized by your beauty. I'm so lucky to have you." Matt said and held out his hand.

He helped me down and we walked to the car. Matt opened the door for me. like a gentleman and got into the driver's seat. We started to drive and we just talked the whole time.

"Matt, I just wanted to mention that you look really handsome and hot and sexy. Don't count yourself out, Matt in a suit is pretty seductive," I looked over into his brown eyes and he smiled.

About 5 minutes later, we arrived at the restaurant, The French Laundry. I smiled but was also upset at the same time. French Laundry was extremely expensive, I mean huge stars went there.

Matt calmed me down and there was no way to persuade him not to pay for the whole thing. Someone took Valet for the car and we walked up to the door.

Matt held my hand and led us to the host.

"Good evening, do you have a reservation with us?"

"Yes, it is under Espinosa."

"Here you are! Louis will you bring Mr. and Mrs. Espinosa to table 15?" He asked the tall man next to him.

He brought us over and gave us the menu, It was short so I found what I wanted very shortly. Matt ordered a glass of wine for himself and I just have some water.

Our waitress came over and we ordered.

"I'll have the Charcoal Grilled Japanese Wagyu please." Matt said and looked over at me.

"I will have the Corned Beef and Cabbage please." I smiled and handed the menu over to the waitress.

Matt and I just talked for awhile and the food finally came out. It looked absolutely delicious and I dug in as politely as I could.

Matt and I did not talk fr about 30 minutes because the food was that good. I was fully dedicated on enjoying and savoring the taste of the dish.

Finally we started to talk about the food and went into a random conversation. Matt ordered dessert for us.

He looked over at me and started talking.

"I remember the first day we meet. It was the second day of 6th grade and you were in my gym class. I've known for the longest time that you were different from the other girls. I'm so glad that I finally asked you out in Junior year. I had been waiting for awhile anyway. Today is your birthday and thank God you came into this world. Gigi you are the most beautiful girl I have ever met and I want to tell you that everyday. Today is a very special day and I want to make this one you will always remember. I love you so much Gigi, to the moon and back. With your brown/green eyes not hazel eyes and with your beautiful smile I've realized finding the one is possible.  My attraction for you is greater than my love for Burnie and food combined. So I have something I really want you to know..."

"Matt what are you saying?" I asked him.

He got off his chair and started kneeling. "Gigi would you do the honor of marrying me? You are the only person I have ever imagined marrying and spending the rest of my life together." He asked me.

I cupped my mouth and tears started to fill my eyes slightly. I couldn't believe this was actually happening.

"Yes of course..." I said half-crying.

He got up and kissed me. My face was still wet but the kiss was filled with feelings I had never felt before. It was insane how much passion and love and caring was put into one kiss.

Matt wiped a tear and place the beautiful ring on my finger. I hugged him again and everyone was clapping. We ate our dessert and went back home.

I spent the night at Matt's and broke the news to my parents in the morning. Matt and I decided to get married in the summer because I was still in school.

It was the most amazing thing in the world and I cannot believe I was getting married to my best friend and first love. Nothing was better than knowing I was going to be with the perfect person for the rest of my life.
