Chapter 100
Logan's point of view
We already wasted too much time cremating Linda's corpse, and collecting her ashes into a jar for Myra to honor.
I don't know much about her, but it seems like she had a great relationship with Myra. A strong and deep bond that allowed her death took a huge toll on Myra. It was like she lost her loved ones all over again.
Though she tried to keep a vibrant smile and surface, but I could see through it all and know just how hard she's hurting.
I wish I could share from her pain to ease her grief, but it's impossible and I can only console her like I've been doing for the past couple of hours.
We made our way down to the palace's control room, where Myra discovered a secret passage that brought out an elevator which transported us underground.
We had no idea what to expect or see, but as soon as the elevator dinged open inside the secret hideaway, we came face to fist with three guards.
I instantly went into their minds and mentally slam down their consciousness.
"Phew that was close," Myra remarked, "how were you able to do that fast and easy?" She raised her brows at me.
"Call it my specialty, but it's what I do," I responded as I knelt down close to one of the unconscious guards.
I went into the guard's memory to acquire a better sense of where we are. I snapped my eyes open when I found the room they're hiding a girl, I saw the room in his head.
"This way," I pointed down the hallway as I led the way with Myra beside and close to me.
"He has a little girl in here, I don't know who she is to him, but she's held captive down here," I told Myra as our steps hurried through the hallway.
"A little girl. Linda wasn't lying, indeed the King has a daughter who is her niece," I added upon our arrival to a room.
I was about to kick the door open when Myra tugged on my arm, it seems her instinct picked on something unusual.
She came to the door and placed her ear above the surface. "Why is everyone so silent?" She quizzed. "Do you really think Lucas would have this place guarded with just three of his men? This girl means more to him than the lives of a dozen guards."
I see her point and she's making sense, but so far we've only met three guards, so perhaps we shouldn't think more into this and just be done here.
"Hold my hand." She stretched out her palm for me to collect as we locked contact.
Her eyes closed, and I felt my body jumped through time and space that left my system in a hazy mess. I looked around and saw that she has teleported us into the room.
"Hi!" A young man waved at us, he was seated on the bed with the little girl we came for, and it looks like they were playing together.
"You, I know you. Your Highness." The guy bowed at Myra, "You're so prettier alive, and it looks like The King's meeting with death was not in vain cause you were suppose to be dead. Anyways, what can I do for you? What are you both doing down there?" His gaze on us raised and became skeptical.
I tried going into his mind when a force that felt like an electricity pushed me out, I winced as my stance staggered.
"Who are you?" The guy stood up, getting down from the bed as he assessed me with scrutiny. He let out a sudden gasp-
"He knows Myra," I informed her.
"I wish you fall asleep."
The guy closed his eyes with his palms clasped, but never fell asleep. His eyes opened as he looked around, a smirk edged on his lips.
Myra moved closer to grab the girl, but her hand just went right past through her.
She wasn't the only one who suddenly became confused at the state of things. What did this guy do?
"Let's talk now. I casted a spell that created a mirrored version of this moment for you both. Right now you can see me as I can see you both and hear each other, but will be unable to touch or interact physically with each other. My name is Eli, and I'm a wizard of the cosmos. Wanna tell me what the both of you doing here now?" He explained to us.
Myra then chuckled as she fixed her posture. "I'm here for that girl." She pointed at the confused and scared little girl who has nearly pushed herself into the wall, clutching tight to the doll she has in her hand.
"I'm to keep her safe and here at all time, so I'm afraid you can't have her. This conversation is over." He closed his eyes, reopening them a second later to reveal a bright shinning pupils.
His face had turn serious as he began to move his lips to chant words that are incoherent.
Myra also closed her eyes, and it didn't take me long to know she's also utilizing her ability.
I heard a cracking sound, and when I looked up in front of me, I could see a crack like it is in a mirror. I glanced at Myra and saw that she's still in deep with the use of her power.
The crack spread, intensifying before a shattering noise broke through.
"El pre bum..." the self acclaimed finished his chant as he stretched his two hands out to point at me and Myra.
Blue particles floated out of his hands at an insane speed into me as the unknown substance ate into my body to spit fire inside of me
I looked over at Myra and saw her already on her knees in pain.
My system roared in agony as more particles flowed out and straight into us.
"I'm sorry, but I have to do this till His Majesty arrives."
No!
I took a peak at Myra again, and the sight of her in pain hammered at my heart. I can't bear it, I don't want it, I have to stop this.
I gathered myself and my strength that has receded as I began to move step by step. The more closer I move myself for the particles to dig in, the more fire that erupted inside my system.
I endured the agony and pushed myself further, determined to rid Myra of her pain.
As I near him, the wizard. I fisted both my palms, and when I'm at a close range, I pushed all of my will into my fisted palm to launch a punch into his face.
The hit created a sudden cease at the use of his magic when he stumbled backwards, I took the opportunity to grab him and began to pummel him so he won't have the strength to resume the attack.
Myra went close to the girl while I continued to mess up the wizard physically with series of punches to his face.
The door suddenly swung out of frame, and I watched the metallic material flew past me and right into the wall, crumpled.
Myra and I whirled back our head at the same time to see who was at the entrance.
My heart dropped a solo beat in fear when our gaze landed on The King's face. Ever furious with his eyes glowing red as they pinned on me.
I fear not for myself, and more for Myra. Will I be able to save her?
