Chapter 093
Logan's point of view
"Argh!" I jerked out of position when Myra popped out of nowhere, looking all paled like she's just seen a ghost. "What the fuck? How? Why?!" That was unexpected and creepy.
"Logan you were right," she said as she walked over to where I was, panic written all over her face as she paced around in anxiousness.
"Right about what?" I quizzed in confusion. Was she not able to warp the Alpha King like she intended? Worse, is he now after her? Panic slowly rose inside of me too.
"Calm down and explain to me. What happened with him?" I urged as I grabbed her shoulder to steady her.
"My powers didn't work on him, he was going to hurt me because he thought I wanted to kill him, he looked so scary and his hands were like heavy rocks placed on me when he touched me. I couldn't run, it's like my feet were trapped and frozen. It was really scary, I thought I was going to die all over again."
Sympathy drove over my nerves as her words sank in, I could only imagine what she must have went through. It's like I knew, because I warned her. I never wanted her to go, told her it might be too dangerous, and now I was right.
I pushed her body into mine as I wrapped my arms around her, "Calm down Love, you're safe now. He can't hurt you here, he doesn't know you're here," I assured her as I patted her spine to soothe her worries.
She relaxed into my embrace and let out a heavy deep breath. "How are we going to get rid of him?" She questioned after some seconds, pulling away from my chest.
Her eyes took the chance to roam around till they found the figure laid on the bed.
"She's awake." Hatred sneered out of Myra's tone.
I don't know if it's right for me to tell Myra everything I just discovered from Deena, or wait till I've figure out a way to solve it.
She's already bothered with the Alpha King, I can't have this on her mind just yet unless I've got a solution. So when I do tell her about it, I could ease the tension that's sure to come along with a way out.
"We need to leave this place, we've been here long enough," Myra proffered as she attempted to walk out of the room.
"Myra no, wait, wait." I rushed after her, still curious on how the confrontation she had with Lucas went. How did it went with the Alpha King, was it that he was immune or he could resist your ability?"
"It was more like it didn't work on him. When I saw he was going to hurt me, I wished that I'm away from you and with you. So I think I teleported out of his reach, and came back here," she answered and enlightened.
"We still need a plan. If we go now, if he's bound to come after us and we still stand no chance against him. We need to figure out how to defeat him, and I think I know who can help."
Myra said nothing, but followed me back into the room where Deena was. She's who I think can help.
"Deena," her name came out softly.
She sat up from her laying position, as she crossed her arms over her chest with a grumpy look on her face.
"Deena, I need your help." I went to her side, and sat down.
We used to be best friends, this is not what I pictured our future would look like or how our relationship would fractured.
"With what? Or have you forgotten the love of your life took away my identity? I'm as useless as my love for you now," she responded, uninterested in whatever I was about to say to her.
"Are you not even trying to redeem yourself?"
"No. Because all I've done, I've done it for you and you alone!" She retorted sharply.
Myra just stood by the corner near the entrance and watched us converse in silence.
"You ruin a lot of lives!"
"And I'll ruin a lot more if it is for you to become mine." Her gaze grew gentle as she shifted and closed the distance between us.
I moved back before our face could collide, and glance at Myra to see she has also gotten agitated.
"You're my best friend Deena, you're someone I really value and respect," I said to her.
"Myra is going to give you back your powers, and you'll help us with whatever we need, then maybe I'll consider forgiving you for what you did and together we'll fix that. Got it."
"Why would I want to help you get a happy ending with her?" Her brows creased in disgust.
"Because it's either you do it willingly or I make you. Have you forgotten I'm now a psychic? And I know your witch has a spell placed on you to resist my telepathy, but I'll have you know that my mate can break that spell just as easily I can bend you to my will," I explained to her.
"So what do you say?" I stood up from where I'm sat. "Are you going to be a decent person and help us, or I have to force you to do the right thing?" I walked some steps away from the bed.
"Why do you even think I can help? What part of my ability screams powerful enough to help defeat the alpha King? You both are ridiculous if you think I can be of any help." She scoffed with an eye roll.
"I will explain it to you, but first you are going to help?" I raised my brows at her.
"Why do you even love her? She has another mate now, get over her! Come to me, love me, we have a better future together. You know it's a cruel life for you and her if you decide to be with each other, why would you want that for yourself?" Her words hinted at what I saw, the secret she tried to keep from me.
I'm not going to talk about that with her when Myra is around. I'm yet to tell her, and I don't want to yet. She already has a lot to deal with.
Deena has now gotten up on her feet and began to walk close.
"She doesn't deserve you," she rambled on, aware that who she spoke ill of is right in the room with us. "But I do, I'm meant for you not her."
"Okay that's enough, get the fuck away from my mate!" Myra broke out of her silence, as she also came up to me and stood in front of me to block Deena from coming any closer.
"I'm going to give you back your powers and you're going to help us with whatever he said you're going to help with," her voice deadpanned. "And if you get sneaky, or try anything funny after you've gotten back your powers. I swear to you by the Goddess that I'll sentence you to a fate worse than the one you currently have."
I smirked with pride, that's my mate standing on business!
