Chapter 102
Logan's point of view
With Myra's sudden flurry with the use of her powers, I had to take a seat down on the ground for a telepathic feat.
Few of The Alpha King's men remains under my control even after I briefly lost my powers, all I had to do was infiltrate their heads and have them back in my command.
I got them to clear a way out for us amidst the swarming troops looking for us.
Myra got into a basic disguise, a scarf over her nose and head to hide her face. I did the same thing for myself and the little girl we've abducted, it was just Deena alone who chose to shift into one of the guards to keep herself in the shadows.
We got on the move, and reports from the psychic mind-link I've generated from the King's men kept us safe and cautious.
There was more at the front yard of the palace, so we decided to make use of the back. There were men still at the back, but from what I've been told, they weren't much, and are a total of people we can sneak by to get through the gate.
The gate wasn't near at all, it's the second exit of the palace's compound, and also heavily guarded just like the main exit.
We all arrived by the field, now close to the gate when men suddenly marched into the view ahead of us.
Not one, not two, dozens, large mass of harmed men walked into the picture.
We all pulled to an halt. I looked behind, and the same action has pulled out.
We were on the field's center, cornered and trapped.
"We're doomed!" Myra seethed in lamentation as she gazed out and around us, so much fear in her eyes.
No!
"No!" I toned out loud.
I've vowed to never let what happened to Myra repeat itself again. I've promised myself that I'll never allow her get hurt again. I must keep her safe.
I have to!
I dropped gently to the floor the little girl I backed on my back while we walked, then step away from them.
"What are you doing?" Myra questioned close to me, but now behind me.
I dragged in a long breath instead of answering her, then exhaled with my breath focused and controlled.
I've never done this before, but I must be able to do this. I sighed once more before my eyes flapped close.
I pulled on my energy, fortifying each string as I sent out a wave of psychic force that began marking on the targets that has us trapped.
I extended the force to go around the whole palace, marking not just the men, but the women, the maids, the guests, every single person in the palace, except for the King himself.
I fear him, I fear he might be powerful enough to not just tank the force, but also redirect it.
When the force has circled the whole of castle and the surrounding, I exerted a pressure so powerful that started shutting down their minds.
My system shook for how strong I was expelling the use of my power, slowly weakening.
I opened my eyes and the men that surrounded us began dropping unconscious and straight to the floor each by each.
It went on for the next few minutes before the slope clicked on me that my feat has been achieved. I drew out a long breath, loud and vocal as I steadied myself.
That definitely took a toll on me. Though I'm not bothered because Leo, my wolf is already healing me up.
I turned back to face my crew, "Let's go," I prompted as I went back to carry the little girl on my back.
"What did you do?" Myra asked, the sound of awe in her voice.
"I might have temporarily shut down the mind of every single soul inside this palace except for us and the King. I got us a a clean and free escape." I chuckled at her.
"Impressive, where did you learn that one? Cause Aunt wasn't alive longer to teach you that," Deena remarked as well as inquired.
"We have to get out of here before The Alpha King himself catches up to us," I told her as I led the way, Myra on my left while Deena strolled by my side.
We hurried out of the second main gate and was out in the street. Luckily for us, a visitor chose now of all time to arrive at the palace.
I wasted no time in taking over his mind and made him step away while handing over to us the swift ownership of his car. I'd have turned him our chauffeur, but it's better to keep the crew personal.
Every one of us got inside as we zoomed off the premises of the Alpha King finally.
Deena sat at the back seat with the little girl, while Myra took the seat next to me behind the wheels.
"So now that we've made it out alive, where are we going?" Deena quizzed from the back where she's seated.
I didn't respond to her, instead took notice of how quiet Myra has been since she couldn't teleport us all of a sudden.
She's been so quiet and a bit distracted since then. I stretched out my hand to lock my palm with hers as I give her a tight squeeze.
"You're okay, alright?" I assured her, flashing her a soft smile before I resume focus back on the road.
"I'm just confused on what happened or why? It's super weird you know, and more strange that I don't know how to deal with it," she confided in me, shared her worries with me.
We've come a very long way. Very long and twisted way.
"However way you're going to later deal with it, I want you to know that I'm here for you all the time," I said back to her, to keep her spirits positive and less sulky.
I'm going to take us to the pack first. I need to check on everyone back at home and see how they're doing. While we're there, I'll get my sister to prepare an accommodation for me and Myra in the city filled with more humans I can ever imagine.
All we have to do is stay safe and under the radar till the blue moon hits the sky and shines over, then we'll stand a chance to fight against the Alpha King and defeat him once and for all.
In the meantime, I want to introduce the pack to their Luna, and make memories with my mate.
