  Chapter 104

   Logan's point of view

I rushed to the field, shifting to my wolf on the run so Leo could get some action because it's been a long while for him.

He got there and latched on the first opponent in sight, he tore brutally on his skin and had him in unconscious in his pool of his blood in seconds.

Leo's feral claws flexed over to the next that aimed at him from behind. He slashed on his face, and down on his body in a rough pattern before he shove his fangs deep into his ribs and threw him away.

Blood dripped down on his fangs as he snarled at the three vampire that surrounded him.

We can take them all at once.

Leo jumped out of spot when one of them sped closer to punch him down, he proceed to mark a deep bite on his leg before he let go of him to dodge another attack.

The vampires might have the advantage of the speed, but it was useless against Leo's prominent and advanced reflex. He was easily dodging their attacks and using it against them.

In no time, the field was filled with dozens of dead vampires. Some with their heads ripped off, others with their heart out on the ground, while the rest were just brutally murdered.

Only one was left alive, I'd told Leo to leave him for interrogation and warning so he did a minimum instead of a maximum damage to him.

I ran out of the field afterwards to a nearby shelter where Leo gave me back control and I shifted, I grab the first outfit in sight and threw them on before I dashed back to the field.

The dirt on my face and mud on my body served as the sequence to the battle I just won when guards began to arrive on the field.

My father was nowhere to be seen, he wasn't around to fight with me against the vampires or to have engaged them before my interference.

"Who is doing this?" I asked the last man of the vampire troop sent to enslave my pack.

He looked at me with disdain before he spat on my feet. "Kill me now, I'd rather die than talk," he spoke with dead seriousness.

I grimaced at him, "Pathetic." I grabbed him by his hair and pulled his head back before I forced my way into his consciousness psychically.

If he wouldn't spill verbally without the use of force, then I shall discover the answers I seek and leave him like he desired, dead.

I read through his memories, saw through his consciousness, and awoke to all of his secrets. A gasped escaped my lips when I pulled myself out of his mind.

   This is wickedness. Simply atrocious.

I looked down on the guy knelt before me with anger in my eyes. He will die like he wish for, but that'll be after he's done serving a purpose.

He's going to return to his clan as the sole survivor of the troop that was sent on a mission they failed to attain victory over, and his presence would mark as a warning to prevent further attempts from them or the consequences would be similar.

After which he's to abandon his daylight potion and burn himself up under the sun.

He stood up right after my will has be planted deep into consciousness and began to walk away.

"Alpha, he's leaving, should we stop him?" One of my guards spoke up against his departure.

"Let him leave, now does any of you know where my father is?" I questioned, looking at their faces for answers.

"When he heard that the vampires were near to kill and take over the pack, he went into hiding with the few of the pack members he could go with. He told the rest to stay with us and fight," one of them responded.

My brows creased in disbelief. Can't believe my father would do and say such.

Since when did he become a coward?

It should have been me and him on this field fighting those vampires, and not me alone.

"One of you can go send a word to him that it's over, also why was I the only one fighting here on this field? Where were you all? Or were you guys also scared to fight?" I had to criticize them also, I was the only one who came here to fight and defeat these people.

None of my trained warriors were with me, to either protect me or fight with me. What if I wasn't around? Was this how they would have succumbed to enslavement?

"Actually Alpha, we were also fighting off others at the main pack ground. We even two of us to the fight, but secured us a win against them. Once we were finished with them, we decided to come over here and help you with the two or three we thought was here. We had no idea here was where the whole armies were," one of them explained, while the rest including him had their heads bowed. Some in respect, few others in fear.

"New measures has to be taken for this pack. Vampires were able to infiltrate our pack so easily with zero resistance. That's unacceptable!" I spoke in admonishment.

"Now the guards are the border will be tripled, more than before. Traps will be set all around the pack's haven to prevent any sneak in from outsiders or dangers."

"First thing is we mourn our losses, then implement the new decisions, and training begins early tomorrow. I want just one of you to be strong enough to take down a dozen of vampires. That way it doesn't matter how small we are, they'll never be able to stand a chance. Are we all on the same page?"

"Yes Alpha!!!" They chorused in unison.

"Good, now clean up all the mess created. And you." I pointed at the head guard. "Meet me in my office later when all is done," I told him before I walked out on them all.

I didn't know they were on the pack's ground too. I thought they were just on the field because that's where they scented heavily from.

After the guard who came to drop the news left and I followed, I traced the vampire's scent to where it was strong and failed to see that there was an ongoing fight in the main grounds.

I stood not too far from the center, inspecting the dead bodies of vampires, houses that got destroyed amidst the fight, burned up tents.

And I sighted Myra at a roofed corner. She was tending to the those that were injured. I instantly walked up to her.

"Are you okay?" Was the first question I asked even though she looks fine, and it was those who has her attention that doesn't look okay or fine.

She glanced at me at the heard of my voice, then excused herself to come to me. "Yeah, what about you?" She began touching me all over in concern.

"Yeah I'm fine. I didn't think you would come out to fight, that was a risk and a dangerous decision. I wasn't there to protect you and something could have happened to you," I chided at her.

She rolled her eyes, "You really think it's your job to protect me huh?" She made a face out of irony.

   "Still-"

"Save the lectures white knight. We have people here who needs our help, let's get back to that." She tapped on my shoulder as she walked back to those she was attending to.

I smiled like a lost sheep. Then went after her.
