Chapter 112

Myra's point of view

"What's that look on your face?" I asked about the sulked look on Logan's face as he waltzed out of his room lifelessly.

"How badly screwed are we?" I stood up so I could go to him.

Tension oozed from him. It was obvious he thinks this is all for him to navigate, to dismantle, and sail over. That he's shifted all the burden meant for the both of us to carry to himself alone.

I rested both my palms on each side of his shoulder as I rubbed him a soft massage. "You're not alone in this," I brought to his reminder because that was surely lost in his head.

"Good news is I've figured out a way to stop the Alpha King, to defeat him once and for all," he began, his tone a reflection of his dark mood.

"What's the bad news?" I asked, seeing as he went silent and wouldn't share the rest of the information.

"It's nothing. We should have dinner and go to sleep, tomorrow I'll set out to get what we need to use against the Alpha King." He shrugged out of my hold, attempting to walk away from me when I moved into his path.

There's something he's not telling me, something extremely bad. How bad could it be for him to withheld the information?

"What are you not telling me?" I stood in his face grounded as I pressured for his response, his truthful response.

His eyes held so much emotional weight, like he's in a mental battle with himself about me. What could it be that he's keeping from me? How bad is it?

I stretched my palm out to caress his face as my gaze on him softened, "Logan," his name gently ripped out of my mouth. "I'm here and will always be here for you, confide in me," I told him before I pushed into the small space between us.

My body pushed into his as my other hand went around him to wrap us in a sensual embrace. I could feel his struggle, his mental turmoil. And all I want, all I want at the moment was to ease his tension, let him know that it's alright, that as long as we have each other we can win all battles.

"He has the pack. He went to the pack and took prisoner of everyone he found there, my father included," he finally voiced out, still engaged in our hug.

Hug is too much of a plain word for it, this right now I would call a connection.

"We'll get them back, I promise," I spoke in a trusted assurance. I wasn't assuring just him, I was also assuring myself and I believe in my words. We'll get them back, we must, we're no longer losing anybody to that monster.

"He gave me twenty fours to hand you over or he spills everyone's blood. I- we have twenty fours to take him down, but luckily I know now that he has a weakness to some jade seed. And while I was in Deena's head, I found out just where to get it, and another luck on us is that we're in the right city where his sister grew the seed and made weapons out of it."

Why was he now sad? So far there's nothing to be cheerless about when it's kind of sorted out. We just need to get those weapons, and put an end to our misery once and for all.

"So we just need to get those weapons. I say we go get it tonight and go save our people," I said to him, pretty much what he needs to hear.

"I don't want you to come with me. I want to go alone, I need you to remain here just Incase anything goes wrong. The Alpha King still won't be able to get to you, and his daughter. Meaning there will be no ritual for him perform on the full moon, no evil to unleash into the world. I don't want to risk our ultimate plan so please you have to stay here!" He grabbed a hold of me, as though pleading profusely to heed his words.

His tone wasn't the only thing that begged, his eyes joined in to plead. He's scared for me, that's what this is, he's afraid for my safety.

Need I remind him that I'm no longer bound and can now defend myself?

"As much as I appreciate your fears, I'm not letting you go to war for me alone. We go alone, and we win together. This is not a cursed fate, I'm not going to lose you and you're not going to lose me. Get that sink into your head!"

"Aww, this is beautiful," a strange voice suddenly commended.

Logan and I at the same time looked to the direction where the voice came from to see the little girl we kidnapped leaned against some wall, arms folded on her chest as she stared at us with interest in her eyes.

"Don't let me interrupt you guys, go on and continue your fun. I'm simply enjoying it." She urged at us in a small wave.

Something is off about this little girl, I don't what is it or why my guts feel this way. But I hope to the goddess that I'm simply paranoid.

"I'm gonna go get us some dinner, alright," Logan announced before he excused himself and went away.

'Do you have my time now?' Salome, my wolf suddenly quizzed at me.

"What do you mean? I've always had your time. Is there a problem?" I quizzed back at her before I went to take my seat on the couch.

'There was a sudden block on your abilities and you're not even that worried.' She made a tsk tsk sound at me out of disappointment.

It's not my fault. I didn't think it was a big deal, I thought I was just exhausted.

'And what are the things you did that made you exhausted?' I could feel her rolling her eyes at me.

I sighed. "Alright, tell me what you discovered, you're the smart one after all," I threw in a compliment so she'd know I always acknowledged her efforts.

'It's your hostage, that little girl is just like her father, she's been sucking on your energy ever since you've captured her. At first I didn't know what could cause the sudden block, but then I realized it all started after you've teleported her out of her lair,' Salome as the genius wolf that she is once again came through for me.

My gaze trailed down to where the little girl stood, her eyes on me as if she knew what she was doing, did she?

"Haven't you had enough of my energy?" I threw a question at her, to find out whether she knows what she's doing or doesn't.

A wicked grin broke out on her lips as she began to march over to where I was seated. "Took you long enough." She scoffed before she jumped onto the seat opposite me.

"Are you evil like your father?" I asked her directly without hesitation, I need to know. Even though I kind of already knew what the answer would be.

Her grin softened into a small smile. "Imagine how funny it sounded to me when you told me my father killed my mother." She chuckled in mockery, then shook her head.

"I did, it wasn't him." Her tone suddenly went cold. "As a baby child blessed with my father's cursed ability, I sucked the life out of my mother while she breastfed me, and her death became my first kill," she spoke of the past with little to no care. To no remorse.

"My father just took credit for the murder so the world won't know about the monster he has created." Her lips curved downwards to feign a letdown.

As if disappointed with her father's actions.

"Did you know your father was going to murder you? To sacrifice you?"

She reeled into a loud laughter, nearly fell off the couch then adjusted herself after she's come back to her controlled self.

"He wasn't going to sacrifice me, he was going to sacrifice you and the third omega. Only the two of you are dying, not me. I'm immortal, I can't die, all he needs is my blood on the sacred altar, and after all is done, he wouldn't be the only one that'll be gifted the raw power of the great darkness, it'll be the both of us." Her whole demeanor switched following her last statement, pure evil like I've never seen took shelter right under her expression at me.

She's his father's daughter that's for sure, and we might have saved the wrong victim.

Where is Logan?! He needs to send her back to sleep.
