Chapter 105

Myra's point of view

Gloom loomed over the whole pack after the vampire's sudden visit. Though the visit has been thawed, but they left quite the impact.

Some houses were destroyed, as well as tents burned to crisp, and lastly were the men we lost to the battle. Some of which are mates, fathers, and family to people in here.

We spent the whole day mourning our losses, coming to stay together and be stronger for each other.

And when the crescent moon came up to the sky, we all gathered under the night sky to share one last service in honor of those we've lost.

Since Logan, the newly officiated Alpha of the pack was back, he hosted the occasion, spoke few words in honor of the dead, spoke few to encourage and empower their losses, and finally prayed to the moon goddess to continue to protect us.

Afterwards was everyone going over each and every of the corpse to mutter a few words of blessings, then we can proceed to burn the bodies and gather the ash for their respective families.

Logan had it in mind to announce me as the Luna today, but chaos had other things in store for us. The vampire had snuck up on us.

I wonder what would have become of this pack of Logan and I hadn't decide to come home, they either would have enslaved everyone or annihilated them all.

People are even starting to see me as their Luna and were giving me the respect that belongs only to the Luna, I mean it's not mandated for them or even expected of them, but weirdly enough- they were doing it.

Compare to how they've always treated me, it was so much different. I wasn't scorned at, or glared at, or even gossiped about.

They're treating as someone who is part of them for the first time, and I didn't realize how good it was until now.

I don't know if this is because I'm the mate of their Alpha, or because the goddess finally touched their hearts. Yeah it's definitely not the latter. If it was, it should have happened to them long before the Alpha King came, changed my life and altered the course.

After we were all done with the funeral and cremating the bodies. I and the alpha family moved into the hall for dinner, and I didn't realize it was going to be until I'm now seated around the same table with Logan's dad.

The man whose wife's death was kind of my fault. Lowkey I wonder why he's still alive, the severance of the mate bond should have also taken his life in my opinion.

'Are you also lowkey wishing death on the man?' Salome quizzed at my thoughts.

I mean he was an actual traitor who betrayed my parents and kind of banished them, the banishment that also kind of led to their death. And when I came back, he gave me so much shit and hell, he also wanted his son to kill after I turned eighteen.

"Nah I'm not lowkey wishing it, I'd be high-key glad if he also dies," I told Salome.

Maids came into the hall and began to serve dinner. I glanced at Logan's dad and saw that his gaze was still pinned on me like it was when we first sat around this table.

I quickly looked away, but when I whirled for another peak and his eyes still fixed on me I knew I had to question the creepiness.

If he has anything to say, he should say it and stop killing me with his eyes.

I mind-linked Logan. 'Your dad has been staring at me ever since we sat down. It's not only creepy, but if he has anything to say then he should say it,' I said to him.

'I think he's in denial about you being here. He never believed you'd forgive me, let alone follow me back here. He's probably shocked to see you really back here.' Logan snickered in my head. 'Don't mind his stare, dig in your meal and just ignore him.'

I sighed and did as he instructed, ignore him and face my meal.

"Okay I can't take this, she shouldn't be here!" Logan's father finally got enough courage to spill his guts.

"She murdered my wife and dare to sit in the same table as me!" His tone hardened as he slammed his fisted palms on the table that sent everything on it unsteady and in a small shake.

"Dad!" Logan called in a warning tone.

"Don't dad me! How could you do this to me? Do you think your mother would be happy where she is right now that you're sitting beside the girl who murdered her and even in love with her? Shame on you Logan, big shame!"

"Dad!" Logan called once more, his tone changed and fierce. The color of his eyes switched from it usual cool blue into a radiant red to showcase his aura and power against his father.

"I'm sorry but I can't accept her, the mere sight of her makes me want to jump over and claw out her insides. I'm sorry." He then shifted his chair backwards and stood up before he marched out of the hall.

Well. Whatever that was.

I continued with my meal and said nothing in reaction to what just happened, just like everyone else at the table.

When we were done with dinner, Logan told me to go wait for him in our room that he has to go have a word with his father.

I didn't argue or tried to change his mind because I know it was about him, and that conversation is very much needed between them.

I on the other hand was on my way to the room when I crossed paths with Deena, we haven't said a word to each other since we came back here. She's been on her own, and I've been on mine.

She came to stand in front of me, folded her arms, sized me up with her eyes, smirked at me, and then walked off.

Okay that was totally weird right?

'Absolutely!' Salome concurred.

I shook my head and shrug off the craziness as I sauntered off into the hallway and make my way into the room I share with Logan now.

I wanted to wait for him to come back before I go into shower, but then I've waited for a full half an hour now and he's now where to be seen yet.

I also didn't want to disturb him through our mind-link so I just went into shower alone, then got in bed afterwards.

It was barely ten minutes later when the room door banged open and a tensed Logan walked into the room.

I sat up instantly confused about his mood as I stood up in concern.

He came to me and grabbed me by my shoulder, "We have to go, we have to leave this place rich now!" He said to me, his eyes shrouded with fear as he shook me vigorously.

"Calm down and talk to me, what happened? What's going on?" I touched his hand that was on my shoulder hoping my touch would ease his tension.

"We never should have trusted Deena." He left me to pace around the room. "That fucking bitch!" He cussed.

"We're not safe because the Alpha King is on his way here, I can't explain right now but I'll explain on the way."

My world stilled as my face paled out at him. "What..." my tone went down and nearly silent. "The Alpha what?"

How?

Oh my goodness.

It was as if his fear jumped out of him and came straight into me.
