Chapter 107
Myra's point of view
I still found it hard to believe. Even as our car sped through the highway, going as far as our thirst for safety could counsel us.
Deena!
The mere sound of her name in my head makes me want to spit blood.
A groan generated suddenly from the girl tucked perfectly into the backseat. I glanced back at her to see she's awake.
"Wh- where are y-you taking me?" Her voice formed in a cracked tone, obviously tired.
There was so much to tell her, so much I don't think we can talk about right now with her, and so much I don't think she's ready to take in. "Send her back to sleep," I gave the instruction with no further thoughts on it.
Logan instantly did as I told him all the while keeping his attention focused on the road to maintain a safe drive.
Just when we thought we've gotten the littlest fraction of peace, when we found a reason to believe fate was truly on our side. Then this happened, this just had to happened.
"You're not saying anything," Logan glanced at me as he remarked.
Of course I'm not saying anything. I'm freaking spooked. Who wouldn't be?
You hear that the bitch you thought became an ally had her agenda hidden and had a plot in motion for the peace we desperately crave!!!!
Curse you Deena! Wherever you are right now, curse you!
I could potentially curse her, all I have to do is wish it but I won't. She deserves something much worse than a curse.
"And your father agreed?" I quizzed back on the narration.
Cause apparently after dinner he went to talk some senses into his father, and met with Deena on his way out who told him she has a few things to say to Logan's father in regards to my presence. Logan thought Deena was going to support his claim and try to get his father on board like he thought she was with him.
So he hid to eavesdrop on exactly what Deena has to say to his father. There he learnt of Deena's plot, she assured his father not to worry much about me that she already fixed it.
When Logan's father asked how, she went on to blabber the whole thing to not just Logan's father, but Logan himself.
He overheard everything.
The deal Deena struck with Lucas. Lucas was to come get me, and spare Logan's life for her in exchange for her help. All she requested for was for me to be out of the picture.
Deena went on to ask if he's fine with all she's done, and it wasn't surprising that he was. But I still couldn't help my amusement.
This is the same man who murdered his wife in cold blood. Yet he's opened to welcome this man back into his pack and not sort for revenge. Instead he joined hand with a fellow traitor like himself to betray his only son.
I could only imagine what could've happened if Logan hadn't overheard Deena's betrayal.
Can't believe she lied to us, and was going to lead the man we're trying to get away from right to the doorstep of where we thought could be a safe space for us.
She was going to discard my life and risk Logan's life to satisfy her selfish desires. Because heaven knows Lucas will never keep his words, all he promised Deena, I can bet on my life that he'll never honor his words.
He's not going to spare Logan, he already went back on his words once when he captured Logan and locked him up.
I told him I wanted to torture Logan, and he agreed only for him to went behind my back to attempt a murder on him. He knows Logan's existence will always be a hindrance for his claim on me so he'll never slip the chance to rid that existence.
Deena was a fool for thinking she could trust Lucas enough to have a deal with him.
"Logan what do we do now?" I voiced the million dollar question.
Lucas will be after us, and I don't want to imagine what he'd do to the pack when he gets there and saw that we've escaped.
The logical thing here will be for me to evade him till the blue moon comes and rolls over. He needs three omegas to unleash the greatest evil the world has ever seen, but only has one.
His daughter and myself are what is needed to complete his requirement for the ritual that is mandated to take place under the blue moon, and he doesn't have us. So what if he doesn't get to have us until the moon is over.
"We kill him," came Logan's response however.
"He's too powerful. My power doesn't work on him, yours was like a tickle to him. I don't think there's a way we can defeat him until after the blue moon, we have to run, hide, make sure he doesn't get to us until the blue moon comes and goes. It's the only way," I shared my plan with him.
'Logan might have a better point, we could try and kill him,' Salome countered my suggestion to aid Logan's plan.
I hissed inwardly. Does the both of them not know who is in talk? The man they want to murder?
"And how exactly do you propose we do that?" I threw at Salome who was in support of the ridiculous idea.
"He has a weakness, we need to find and know what that weakness so we can forge it into a weapon and use it to take him down," Logan answered me after I had audibly muttered the question I thought was silently said to my wolf inside my head.
"What if he doesn't? Or what if that weakness of his that we seek leads right back to him?" There are more what ifs, but those are just the ones I want him to think about
"All I know is that we'll get through this together, I promise you. That fucker can try and do all he wants, but he'll never, I repeat will never take you away from me." Logan's palm swerved off the wheel to claim mine as he brought up my hand to kiss.
"He can't," I told him, from the bottom of my heart.
Lucas can't take me away from you Logan, I belong to you not him, just like he belongs to me and not Deena. We're meant for each other, and this is our battle, a battle we must win!
