Chapter 097

Myra's point of view

It was a pretty simple journey to the dungeon when Logan could flipped the mental switch of a creature's brain off in a quick snap.

We left a pile of unconscious bodies in our trail as we arrived at the dungeon where Linda was kept. There was two guards left now securing her prison.

"Leave them to me love," Logan let go of me as focused his gaze on them, probably trying to make them pass out like he's been doing to the rest we've encountered before we arrive here.

"Looks like I have to take them out the old fashioned way, they're fortified against psychic attacks. Can't shut them down!" Logan explained to me before he went forward to engage the two guards in a brawl.

Sometimes I forget he wasn't just a jerk Alpha back at the pack, he was a trained asshole who was actually in charge of recruiting warriors. He's a master combatant and I usually forget that because his existence never mattered to me until now.

I watched him display his combat skills, dodging the attacks thrown at him in a way that created space for him to land a punch or kick on his opponents.

In few seconds, the two guards that looked so tough when we arrived here were out and paralyzed on the floor, he didn't spend that much time on them.

I walked up to him removing the cell's key from the guard's belt. We rushed over to the dungeon, where Logan worked on the lock with the key he has with him.

My gaze narrowed into the confinement, Linda was held down and still in bounds of silver chain. Her lips were chapped and paled, her breathings shallow and slow.

I wonder how long she's been like that. She's soon going to lose her life if we didn't chose today to get her out of here.

The moment Logan got the gate opened, I rushed over to her and brought down the chains. My body shuddered with sympathy as I finally took her frail body out of the bounds.

She looked horrible and almost lifeless, but I could still hear her heart pumping.

She needs a healer, and I'm not one. I could only make a wish right now.

"You're going to be fine, you're saved now." I took her palm in mine as I held it tightly, "I wish you're healed and alright," I whispered out softly with my eyes closed.

When my lids pulled apart, I expected a miracle, but to my blatant surprise she remains the same. Still struggling to breathe and barely holding one.

"Y- yo- your highness," her wrinkled voice managed to voice.

I couldn't tell what she was going through, but I could feel it. She's going through a lot, and it is too much for her to handle. The pain, the torture, I wish I can ease her, I wish I can take away part of it. It is too much for her.

"Linda what is wrong? Why can't I heal you? How did you end up here?" I bombarded her, nearly breaking into tears at the sight of her distress.

Her breath was falling slow and more slow with each passing second. I need to know what happened and see if there is still a chance to save her.

"Logan." I looked back at my mate, "Can you get inside her head and figure out how this happened to her?"

He nodded as he began to come close.

"That's just gonna be a lot of stress, why don't I save you the trouble?"

Logan and I glanced back to the direction where the strange feminine voice came from. Slowly coming to sight was this woman, I remember her, she's the witch Lucas had with her when he had me locked in his room and Logan came to break me out.

"You." She pointed at Logan, surprised to see that he's alive and with me. "You survive the King's attempt to kill you, impressive." She nodded her head in commendation.

"What did you do to her?" Raw emotions coursed through me, partly coming out through my voice.

She fisted her palm with her eyes closed, then began to move her lips to speak gibberish, words that are incoherent, her fisted palm also lifted and stretched at us.

"There," she opened her eyes and muttered. "Now we can all chat." She smiled at us.

"I'm not in the mood to chat, whatever you've done to her, I need you to undo it before I do something worse to you and make you regret it," I resorted to threatening, Linda is dying and she might be my only hope to save her. I'm willing to do whatever it takes.

Linda was good to me, really good to me. Apart from Lucas's false sense of warmth, it was Linda who made me feel compassion next. She took care of me, not because she was my personal maid, but because she wanted to. She could have been mean to me like Lisa was, or the rest in the palace who gossiped and say awful things about me, she could have been like them, instead she was really nice to me and accepted me.

I have to save her. Especially after learning about her story, this is not the ending she deserves. She deserves better, I must assure that. I need to.

"Oh darling there is nothing you can do to me, I just made sure of that. You see, I know that pretty man over there could have me out or under him in a blink so I casted a spell that neutralized you all, including the dying one. Each of you is nothing, except for me. So really I should be the one that is making threat, and you guys in fear of whether I mean it or not." She let out a devilish chuckle.

No...!

"No please you have to save her, you don't understand, she can't die. What did you do to her?" My eyes were getting teary, I couldn't hold back the emotions attacking me.

"Oh I wish I can, but no can do. I poisoned her, and there's no remedy because it's a personal poison brewed by me in particular. Titled, the Midnight Howl. It's a slow poison, take some time to finally get the job done." She peeped over at Linda that was laid in my arms. "Though I suspect the job is about to be done," she said and huffed at the sight of Linda.

"What do you mean no remedy? You have to save her, she can't die. Please I'm begging you, she can't die." The tears I've held down and inside broke free and out of my eyes. No, no, no!!!!!

Linda is not going to die.

"Even if I can save her, she's good as dead, she's literally on the boat to death right now. I'm just gonna suggest you say your goodbyes." She snickered.

She snickered?!

She killed an innocent lady and had the audacity to snicker? To laugh at her cruelty? To be pleased at her wickedness? Her viciousness?

The pain inside of me slowly grew into anger as I dropped Linda gently on the floor.

"If I can't go into your head, I can make you submit in another way. And since you said if, my gut tells me you have a remedy, and you're going to tell us!" Logan made to go to her when she stretched her palm at him and had him froze in motion and went down on his knees.

"Looks like you forget who is special and can use her powers here?" She cackled like the evil witch she is.

"Did you know she has a sister?" I quizzed at her, glancing down at Linda so she would know who I'm talking about.

"The sister was the King's first mate, and he killed her after she has given birth to his first baby, an omega child. She came here to rescue the child because the King has diabolical plans for the small child." I sighed as my rage continued building up.

"I'm sure you knew that already because you're in with the king, you both are together on destroying the world and unleashing an eternal darkness."

"This woman did nothing to you and you poisoned her, you made her a lifeless vessel struggling to breathe," my tone switched from soft to the harsh vocal that perfectly captured my deadly anger.

I felt a strange rush inside of me.

"How are your eyes doing that? You're neutralized, you shouldn't be able to use your powers?" I could smell the fear in her voice, on her face, through her system.

"I told you, you were going to regret it." I gasped as power like never before pulsed through me.
