CHAPTER 33: He's Into Her (Part 1)
BRYLE’S POV

Perhaps this is the effect of a breakup; after being left behind, you are no longer recognized. They will disappear from your life, never to be seen again. That's probably what people who leave do, and this is what those who are left behind feel.
 
I am still deeply hurt, and I want to lose control, get angry, scream, and cry until all the tears in my eyes are gone.
 
But what's the point of wasting time doing that if the person who left you doesn't even feel guilty? 
 
Just lose concern. 
In that way, you won't get hurt.
 
I slowly glance over the paperwork I'm holding. As usual, I'm not in the mood. I want to go out and find other distractions, but why would I do that? I have a lot of work that needs to be finished.
 
Geez, what a headache!
 
I looked up as the guys suddenly entered my office. They are the ones who do nothing but tease me. Who else? Of course, my friends.
 
"Yo, Calix," Elijah greeted with a teasing grin.
 
"Mmm? What are you guys doing here? I'm busy," I grumpily said to them. They didn't pay attention to my tone; they just laughed and quickly sat on the sofa in my office.

I sighed at their behavior. Oh right, they're not listening, so why would I defy them and send them away? It would just be a waste of my time.

"We will have an event at a mall in the Italy," Zeke started the conversation, "We need to be prepared because we will be signing the proposal for the charity fundraising event to be held in the last week of this month."

"Oh, that's right, Zeke! We need some fruits," Kurt said with a laugh.

Everyone knew that Kurt's comment was sarcastic because the main reason for the charity programme we were attending was to help those who were sick. I just shook my head at what he said.

"Gamot dapat ang ibigay sa mga 'yon, ano bang sinasabi mong prutas d'yan Kurt? Hindi ka naman gagaling sa prutas!" Kaizer commented on Kurt's statement. They always argued with each other because their thoughts didn't align.

I just sighed and shrugged. I didn't bother to speak up.

"Tama sabi nga nila nakakalayo sa Doctor kapag palagi kang kumakain ng mansanas." Levi chuckled in agreement. "Hindi naman 'yon totoo, ilang beses na kumakain ng apple ang mga pasyente na nasa ospital, pero hindi naman sila gumagaling." He added it with a teasing grin.

They laughed after hearing Levi's words. I just shook my head at their silliness.

"Calix, what do you think?" Zeke turned to me with a serious look. "How much do you think we should allocate for the event?"
 
I paused for a moment.
 
"2 billion is enough," I said, exhaling. "The event is relatively small; we don't need to expand our expenses."
 
"Calix is right; I agree with 2 billion. How about you guys?" Elijah grinned.
 
"I'm okay with that," Kurt replied.
 
"It's a small amount, but I'm game with whatever your plan is," Kaizer added.
 
"Count me in too!" Levi chimed in.
 
"Alright, everyone agrees with Calix's suggestion. That will be the budget the HGS Clan will release this weekend," Zeke concluded the conversation.

After a few days, the time came for us to go to Italy for the event we were attending. Everyone was excited because it was rare for us to be together again. My friends were almost never quiet, as they kept chatting endlessly.

When we arrived at the hotel where we would be staying for two days for the event, they quickly suggested going to the mall; even though it hadn't started yet, they were excited to go. I didn't complain and just went along with them.
 
I have businesses here in Italy, so this country is not new to me. I'm not here often 'cause I'm usually in the US, where the main branch of my company is located.
