The game started off slow. Hyakuzawa made a point by spiking above the blockers.
"That spike was completely above the block!" Suga exclaimed. He looked to Himari to see what she thought, but she was observing the game carefully. Her cat-like eyes trained completely on Hyakuzawa.
"Mari, what do you think?" Ennoshita asked.
"Just keep watching. I'm pretty sure number nine is new to this game, so there's something that he's doing to make spiking easier for him."
The players on the bench looked back up as Hinata was blocked by none other than Hyakuzawa.
The giant felt eyes on him, so he turned around and flinched when his eyes met Himari's sharp ones. He slowly turned back around and got ready for the next rally.
The game continued and Kakugawa continued to score points with Hyakuzawa. However, Himari noticed something causing her to smile. She looked at Daichi and Noya who seemed to notice it also.
"Call a timeout." Himari said.
Takeda nodded and the team ran back to the bench. Kiyoko handed them their water while Himari walked up to Noya and Daichi.
"You guys saw it too, right?"
They nodded and Himari smiled. She turned around to where Yachi, the old coach Ukai, and his students were watching and gave them a smile and a thumbs up. Yachi's frown became a grin and she began jumping up and down.
"Why are you so excited, Yachi?" One of the kids asked.
"Mari has a plan."
"Alright guys, after watching the previous game and warm ups, I don't think number nine can hit any shots in multiple directions." Daichi told the team.
"He only shoots cross court in whichever direction his body is facing." Noya added on.
Himari nodded, "Yeah, so far he hasn't been able to spike in a different direction. I'm pretty sure he's new to volleyball too. I'm sure I would have heard about him in middle school or something."
"We can disregard the possibility of any line shots." Daichi told the team.
"Now, his height is still going to be a problem, but you can't do anything about it. It's time for you guys to get creative and find a way to land an attack of your own." Himari told them.
"Okay!"
On the other side, Kakugawa was talking about how the game was going. When they turned around to look at Karasuno they flinched when they saw Himari looking at them with a mischievous smile.
"She's trying to throw us off our game. Just ignore her." The captain told them.
However, they couldn't help, but feel uneasy as the whistle blew again signaling for everyone to get back on the court.
"You guys understand the plan, right?" Himari asked.
"Yeah!"
Once the game started, Noya was able to receive Hyakuzawa's spike and Hinata was able to get a point through a feint.
"Why's Kageyama wiggling his fingers like that? And why does Hinata suddenly look like an excited puppy?" Himari questioned as she watched them. Once Hinata began running, she understood and smiled,
"Oh, I see."
Hinata and Kageyama got the point with the new quick attack. Eventually, Karasuno began to lead by one point.
"Hyakuzawa is a one trick pony. He can't do anything, but attack and only in a certain way. Once they counter that, the game is ours." Himari stated. Ukai nodded with a smile and they watched as Karasuno got to set point.
